bbq vibes
stumbled across these photos taken by russian photography sergey prokudin-gorsky, the photos date back to around 1915. pretty cool seeing the word at a time most of us would have thought of as black and white. this is the technique he used, basically took three monochrome pictures through three different coloured lenses (red, green and blue), to create the image of colour. here's some of his flicks, from early 20th century russia:

STAN51
Damn son, thats a good find! props! Even though i don't get along with most of my people, i am proud of my Russian heritage and the innovative skills they have acquired from movies to photography. if you study film or theater , you might have to learn the Stanislavsky method which is still relevant to this day and is also developed a long time ago. These photos are great!
Spitfire15
damn thats dope dude was making color prints way back then I think they used some method, I dont know what its called, where they can make black and whites into colors. I think they do it too with old school WW2 footage.

No these are trichrome prints, where you use 3 separate lenses and negatives simultaneouy then you develop each negative on top of the other more like a screen print that colorization technique is different and doesn't capture true color
MrChupacabra
Those are awesome. Definitely way more exciting and with better colors than a large portion of the images posted in the photography thread from high quality digital SLRs.
