Well here's the interesting thing though: if you were thinking of killing someone and had the plan/intent there would legally be a duty to warn. The person could potentially be hospitalized for that too. Different from arrested, but you could be detained for a period for your thoughts. Haven't they done the same w/ some terrorists or would be terrorists too?

Spanking off to a pic of someones face does not = "plan/intent".

yep. the patriot act has definitely brought on some charges for thought crimes/no crimes.

as for the killing thing, was referring to the type of situation where it's a heated argument/fight/whatever. planning something like murder is a crime.

if i got into an argument with my neighbor and thought "i'd love to kick that guy in front of a large truck", not so much a crime.

Haven't there been people hospitalized and/or arrested for wanting to kill the president, even if the plan and/or intent thing was absent or very vague? I can't recall what the deal is w/ the guy currently who had made some statement or maybe more against Obama, think they said it wasn't a real likelihood he would do it?

You're talking about the president though.

And just because somebody can get locked up for saying he wants to kill Obama, doesn't make it right.

That's the problem with setting precedence.

You give the law an inch, and it takes 10 miles.

You start lockin niggas up for the way they think, and next thing you know 90% of the country is one big prison camp.

We already have the highest prison population on the planet, when is enough enough?

This is supposed to be a free country.

I would wager that most of the people we have locked up are for ridiculous/unfair/unnecessary drug laws, but that's for Crossfire or whatever.

At least they actually DID something to get locked up for though.

You gonna start locking niggas up for thinking about selling drugs?

How you gonna say it's unfair for niggas to get locked up for drugs, but then turn around and be cool with someone getting locked up for jacking off to pics in the privacy of his own home?

You might have me there, there's a lot of grey areas and questionable shit that goes on. Because the guy bringing pounds of weed across the border from Canada is a very low level risk for molesting your preteen daughter?

You don't just go locking everyone up who you think is at risk for breaking the law.

Yea i agree..given the same rationale...any1 is capable of anything...so why not lock us up 2.

just because some1 has a potential to be something...doesnt make it illegal..

were founded by the innocent until proven guilty ideas..
