blood fart
I know in my David Bowie thread I said that I wished Bowie were my father. But I've changed my mind. I wish Paul Newman was my father. He did so many great things in his life. Beyond acting in a long list of superb movies, he also has a full line of delicious foods that give to charity, he founded a camp for sick children, raced cars, and just was a really good dude. http://www.holeinthewallcamps.org/Page.aspx?pid=183 The camp he founded. One day I want to volunteer some time at this place. autoteller
the hole in the wall camp i think is in connecticut, and they're more than happy to let people volunteer! he's made a lot of kids' lives better, and given joy to some kids that more than likely weren't going to have many more. i have monumental amounts of respect for him just for how he's spent his money he's gained on acting rather than his acting itself. 2009
I have just watched a tv report on ramusa.org . It's good to see famous people using their celebrity for a good thing.
blood fart
According to the package of cookies I have in the kitchen, he has given over $200million to charities through the profits of his food line since 1988. That is amazing. I looked into the camp he founded and when I get back to the states, I am going to volunteer. There are actually quite a few of them now, and even ones in other countries...just not one in Germany. But there is one in the UK and one in Ireland...so I might be able to work and save up money and take a vacation to volunteer at one of those for a few weeks or so. Harvey Wallbanger
Paul Newman was a super rad dude, for all of the reasons listed above. Massive respect. Newman-Os are nowhere near as good as oreos, but I'm not going to hold that against him.

Plus, I bet the dude responsible for Oreos wouldn't help a old lady cross a busy street.
