Sci-Fi

Recommended Posts

I'm gonna bust out my inner geek on y'all right now.

Anything science fiction related can get dumped in here. Cyber type punk movies, books, magazines and collectibles and so on.

So currently I'm still reading:

Totally digging on this right now. Interesting how some things mentioned in here are now a reality of sorts.. Good read though.

One of my favorite authors and book. More of a cyber punk type deal though, but very good. He also wrote a trilogy which was real good. Ultra violence and the worshiping of Elvis is nothing but win.

Good book and good author.

The first Terminator was dope.

Good stuff right here...

So yeah.. That's it for now..

I've listened to The Martian Chronicles on tape (CD) but still haven't read it.

Edit: Still reading the Ender series, but the shadow books are kinda boring so I've been taking a break on them.

Comic Con in San Diego anyone?

I will be there in full effect!

I actually may go. My friend's roommate has a booth with her friends there.

I might be there helping a friend sell his comics, but it's up in the air right now.

Not that I even think this show is great, but I do dig it and the women are pretty hot.

And I've been into sci-fi/fantasy since I was a little kid. Roger Zelzany, Larry Niven, Philip K. Dick, Neal Stephenson, H.G. Wells, William Gibson and Terry Pratchett are some of my favorite authors.

I'm also working my way through the original Star Trek episodes with William Shatner, and let me tell you how much fun it is to watch them with a few beers in ya.

I've never really gotten into Star Trek, but have watched it.

Never heard of the Firefly series. I'll check that up on my Netflix.

Here is a fantastic compilation of all H.G.Wells' works

I also suggest anything by L.E. Modesitt Jr.

That Doctor Who series is actually one of the longest going television series. Started around 1965 I wanna say.

Follow this link and read this short story (you will like it guarantee)

It is one of my favorite sci-fi short stories by a man named Isaac Asimov.

Asimov is so good:

The President considered that. He said, "If Shuman says this, I am inclined to believe in - in theory. But in practice, how can anyone know how a computer works?"

Brant laughed genially. "Well, Mr. President, I asked the same question. It seems that at one time computers were designed directly by human beings. Those were simple computers, of course, this being before the time of the rational use of computers to design more advanced computers had been established.
