And to whoever is trying to send me garbage for trade i only sent you back a ridiculous trade to see if you were also dumb enough to click accept. Huston Street is back into a closing role - I dropped him earlier because he was melting down, but if he's found his touch, he could be a good pick up. That's if nobody else has him. Ferris Bueller Posted June 27, 2009 Share Posted June 27, 2009 My team has (Downtown Players) has taken shape in the last couple of weeks. The first month is always a little slow, but you got to hang on to some players to see how they pan out. Plus you have injuries and such. Either I have a good ear, or I am lucky, but I made a few good FA pickups off of activated bench players and call-ups. For instance: -Manny gets suspended, so I grabbed Pierre in early May. Got a lot of 3Bs, hits, runs, and good average out of him. He has been in a slump the last several weeks, though. -McLouth officially traded to Atlanta, McCutchen called up from the minors. I picked him up the day it was official. No regrets for that. Not a ton of power, but has speed and great batting ability (a la Juan Pierre). -I got a huge break getting Rays infield defense. I already have Scutaro as a 2B/SS/3B, but I wanted another SS to replace Khalil Greene (ugh) earlier on. I managed to grab Barlett, which was obviously a great pick up. Then Iwamura goes down for the season, and Zobrist began starting in the infield. He is listed as a 2B/SS/OF, and I was looking for another player I could stick in different positions for some flexibility. As most fans know, Zobrist has probably been the hottest player since coming off the bench. Posting a .289 AVG, with 16 HRs and 44 RBI.
