Quoted post pretty hard to find in general, as you already know. personally i think ides tastes a little minty, which kind of bugs me. oe and steel are much better forties, but if you're the type of motherfucker who's been "wanting to try st ides for a long time," you probably already knew that too. **typo

?$? 0 Posted May 6, 2005 The best beer that Northern California has to offer is Brown Shugga aka Brown Thugga. It is only put out 7 months out of the year. Good taste and super potent. :king:

H. Lecter 4 Posted May 6, 2005 Bump for Zwyiec! Stella is definately horse piss compared to other beers in Belgium... ordering a Stella Artois is Belgium is like ordering a hamburger at a 5star steak house. Never-the-less, still one of the best mass distributed beers in the world, as sad as that is. Japanese beers... Asahi, even though it sells best in Japan (and is cheapest!).....it's shit! Sapporo makes the best beers in Japan by far..... Kirin does good too though...bump for Ichibahan Shibori! Sapporo , Japan Witte/Wheat/White Beers... Paulaner's Witte is great, and I respect the puritan laws...but my taste sticks with the low-lands... I posted Hoegaarden but neglected my true preference... Wieckse Witte Netherlands! and P.S. anyone who lives in a major US city can find a good number of these beers, you just haven't looked hard enough yet. Go to beer distributers/ wholesalers..or search out specialty bars in your cities eating & drinking guide(s)...worse comes to worse, look for restaurants serving food from any of the countries mentioned, ask for a beer menu, you're likely to be suprised.. Thanks to everyone posting~ there's going to be alot of taste testing this weekend!

HAL 49 Posted May 6, 2005 Yeah, I'm pretty into the IPA beers. Most any brand will do. There's this microbrewery from New Hampshire called Smuttynose that makes a killer IPA. I drink that a lot. I like porter beers, too. If it's shit beer on a hot day, I'll opt for the Stroh's. Aside from that I'm not real into lager. Anyone ever have a barleywine beer? My homie brought some over a while back, and I got lit on only a couple of those. The shit is like 12%, but it's not some piss malt liquor. They should put it in little bottles instead of big 22ouncers. Speaking of, my hangover is going to be fun to cool out with at work today. Fucking aye. Don't hit the pub on a Thursday night.
