eviltrailer77
Agreed. While we are off topic, been noticing a lot more cider brands popping up, thus I have been drinking a lot of cider lately. Anybody else notice this?
CILONE/SK
I have too. I think it is just this time of year.
theprotester
Cider has blown up over the last two years in Australia because the major players finally figured out that it gets taxed at the wine rate, which is significantly lower than a beer tax rate. So they pumped a lot of dollars into massive marketing campaigns and everyone started to like cider, which was great, meant all us tiny players don't have to do any advertising apart from saying we've got it! Methode Cider is bloody good, but most of the shit that's getting pumped out these days is nasty. Cider should be as dry as a nice Champagne. When I get a minute I'll try and get some photos of the other spirits.
CILONE/SK
Drank a few of these yesterday. smooth beer with a minimal kick to it, which alot of IPA's have too much of.
john_gacy
I'm a fan of pear cider. I also like how Woodchcuck expanded their ciders out, fucked with different ingredients.
CILONE/SK
You mean this stuff? I tried one once, but it was way too sweet for me.
eviltrailer77
This is the best I have had yet. Crisp and dry, Without the cloying sweetness that a lot of ciders have.
john_gacy
I've had it but can't recall if I liked it, there's several brands that make pear cider. Like most things, some better than others.

theprotester
Haha, what the fuck is an unnatural vanilla bean?
john_gacy
Think it's a reference to their use of organic ingredients, as well as to other brewers that may use extracts? Either way don't matter, it's good.
theprotester
I guess so. But if it was organic they would have paid out the fuckin' arse for it and definitely declared 'organic' on the label. I use Madagascar premium vanilla beans, they cost the fuckin' earth. Around $3-$4 a bean for the good stuff! I would love to try it though. I also enjoy that label stock they've used. Classy. john_gacy
Vanilla is def expensive, and I looked it up real quick to check and yes, they use organic vanilla bean.
