They were put together by “Hitman G.” The KGBs simply started out as a party crew that did not affiliate with people or folks. They were a party crew from the late 1980s until 1992. During these four to five years the KGBs began to conflict with people nation gangs and the Satan Disciples and the Insane Guess Boys. The KGBs also befriended the Ambrose street gang by 1992 and joined the folks alliance with the recommendation of Ambrose. Ambrose became the KGBs sponsor for getting into folks, and as a result, the KGBs became “First-cousins” with Ambrose. Soon afterward the Krazy Getdown Boys established a well known reputation on the streets as they became one of Chicago’s many hardened gangs. They gained enough popularity to expand into more areas of the Marquette community and into Chicago land suburbs. Hitman G was later killed by rival gang members leaving “Lil Siegel” as leader. Lil Siegel eventually got locked up and “Chief G” gained some power over the organization. The Krazy Getdown Boys continue to exercise a presence in Marquette Park and various suburbs. The KGBs still are enemies with the Satan Disciples and other Marquette Park folk gangs such as Two Sixs and La Raza.
