Bojangles
More and more lately, I find it hard for the things I used to enjoy to be able to hold my interest. I turn on a video game or movie and turn it off a few minutes later, only to find myself pacing the house looking for something to do. Then I decide to leave my house and either hop in my car on on my bike and return home shortly after because "there's nothing to do". Even painting anymore barely holds any interest to me. Anybody else ever go through this? I'm not depressed or anything. In fact, there's a lot of good things going on for me right now. It's not just the day to day stuff either. You could probably put me on a rollercoaster to outerspace and I'd get bored after a few minutes.
xrebelheartsx
i get that way from time to time, and i just normally end up sticking with whatever seems to be boring me the least. it's during these times that i end up painting the worst shit, because i'm just not feeling it. shai
Ennui? I've been in a slump with drawing, although people have been saying my stuff is as good as ever. I can tell, though...it feels forced and I notice the mistakes.

Malin
I'm currently like this. The only thing that helps me is painting. But like someone said it seems to be the worst shit and not feeling it. It's like that for me. I know it's bad so I will just heavily medicate myself with Xanax and I just veg out, drool and try to draw. It's usually a hit or miss with what I produce in the Xanaxed out state of mind. Then I crash and sleep untill the next day which seems to be better. But over all I fell you and I am like this right now and I don't know what to do to help it. I don't want to suggest doing enough Xanax to kill a baryard animal but it makes me not care and the anxiety goes away and I dont care that I care about being in this block of creativity. Don't know if that made sence, but It'll pass with time. Don't know if this helped or not just thought I could relate. Hope you come out of this. Bojangles
A mix of your answers is what happens next. I drink a lot of beer, look at porn till I get bored, then make a mediocre painting or drawing. Then look at myself in the mirror and call myself a drunken pervert. Repeat. Now that I think about it, the only thing that really holds my attention these days is this site.

Gat Bush
Drugs are my solution. But they might be the reason I am a lazy scumbag...

debo
i've been feeling like this lately as well. one thing that kind of helps me is to make a list of things i want to accomplish, and then just start knocking things off. even if they're just little things, or kind of mundane, it's nice to feel like i've done something with my time instead of pacing around thinking about what to do. also maybe try something new? sometimes just changing up the routine can help you get out of a rut. chopsticks
Im feeling exactly like this at the moment, I can get motivated to do fuck all lately. Realism
I get this way a lot. I usually smoke weed and view porn, but eventually that gets old too, especially the weed. For me, nice weather really puts me in the mood to do shit because it gets me out of the house. I actually cracked open a bunch of old Playstation games the other day, which has been keeping me really entertained. Try to find something you haven't done in a while. And fist...I once played that for 4 hours straight. Props.
lord_casek
yep. tried to start sketching again recently, got bored with it. haven't painted a canvas in a long time. slump.
MAR
these are all signs of depression. the best, non-drug/medicine, way to get out of the slump is to do something physical, like run, work-out, join some form of team, or do martial arts. The physical activity stimulates chemicals in your body that makes you feel good. Eating healthier also helps. I play soccer and I am trying to join a fencing club, both things feed my need to move and get me out of the house. Sitting in front of a computer has become my job, so its natural for me to desire physical stimulation. [/no boogie hands]
