i had a used 3000gt and let a friend drive it.. i will never buy a used sports car again.. or let a friend drive my car.. i let him drive it and he slammed into second and the transmission lost second gear..(so you know that car had been abused) try driving a sports car without second..it was so shitty.. my dad ended up fixing it for himself after i moved since i needed a 4 door when i had my son.. cost a couple grand

answer my question! how the hell do people burn their clutch? by riding it? and not pushing the clutch in all the way??

i have this argument with my husband cause he drives stick like shit

both can burn out clutchs. not pushin it in all they way is worse in my opion than riding it. if you dont push it in all the way the clutch plates dont always get the clearance they need and can start major tear on your clutch

clutch is burned when you are in gear and have the clutch engaged with the gas

so when you're in gear and driving, don't hover your foot over the clutch keep it on that pseudo peddle next to it, then when you shift gears you engage the clutch

riding the clutch will eventually burn it out... starting from second puts a shit ton of strain on your clutch

things like this and just general idiocy

i had a ex who did that and still could never push the clutch all the way in. nothing funnier than watching cry when the clutch went out..

speaking of Cuba, this thread reminds me of that movie, "Boyz N Da Hood". :D

i am currently driving a stick shift. i learned how to drive a stick when i was in my late teens.

my cousin had an old Ford Escort with a fucked up clutch.

he was trying to sell it to me for like $450 but i didn't know how to drive it. so he taught me.

i ended up paying him $200 cash and letting him take a grip of clothes from a store i worked at. heh!

my first time driving a car was when i was 12. i borrowed my grandmas station wagon to

cruise around the block and almost hit a tree. luckily my dad and my uncle stopped me before i did.

i mean its supposed to be a smooth transition...

my poor baby car

its not my dream car by all means, but its been good to me..

at least its practical unlike suv soccer moms driving themselves from walmart to walmart in a fifteen seater

there's so many of these types in my area. blarge women with 1 or 2 kids, driving Tahoes

or Denalis, slopping a McDonalds double cheeseburger and washing it down with a XXL non-fat latte

from Starbucks, talking shit on their Motorola Razr about how they need a Soldier...grrrr

yeah it has a short throw shifter and a stage 2 clutch but damn whiplash ass sucked ass.

i took her on some backwoods country curves to teach her how to drive it better.now she can almost drive with out jacking shit up but she will learn.
