Burial - Untrue........fucking amazing.

 

Angus & Julia Stone............acoustic, australian, chilled.

 

The Avalanches - Since I left you......oldish now, its kinda like endtroducing but different

 

Jens Lekman - indie, good.

 

The Stone Roses...........old but still good.

 

Pharoahe Monch - Desire..............one of the better hip-hop releases of '07

 

finally.....The Hood Internet.............google it, they do heaps of weird mashups.

so is this just music that we like that we think you should listen to? or you have a genre that you like that we should sort of cater to?

 

either way, try to listen to some of this:

 

 

elliot smith - new moon/figure 8/either or/anything of his

 

interpol - turn on the bright lights

 

chopped and screwed three six/project pat

 

fuck, i dont know, i just listed about all the stuff i listen to on the regular

yes to Jens Lekman...Start off with some older shit though like the album "oh you're so silent Jens"

 

other recommendations

 

the album "Loaded" by the Velvet Underground (My favourite album of all time)

 

the album "Marquee Moon" By Television

 

and for some extremely depressing acoustic music get the album "colour green" by Sibylle Baier

Dude.......seriously. I've actually had the pleasure of seeing them live a few times, back in their heyday. Rediculous.

If you like them try listeneing to "The Blinding Light". It's the singers more recent band. They are on Deathwish. Two albums out so far. Amazing.

 

I don't really listen to that kind of stuff much anymore, but I always have some time for Threadbare.

ALso.....STARKWEATHER. The "Croatoan" album kills anything else alive. This is the band that started this sound. This is what Converge always wanted to grow up to be. These guys were like this before Converge considered existing.

Ha. I just walked in the door from seeing mass amounts of Burmese people exploding so let me get my head together. What kind of stuff are you thinking twards? Gimmie like at least an idea of what your interested in.

 

You just seem to know a lot of classic rock and jazzy music. Im looking for that lost era i skipped out on.
