I got pulled over in a neighboring county with my girl driving my car and they searched my whip, found 8 e pills, then went thru my phone, all the pics, notes, etc. All I had was pictures of chicks making out and the younger cop was like "damn, I need to be hanging out with you guys"

Yeah, you might be able to if you werent about to take me to jail asshole.

But yeah, they said they pulled all sorts of busts through dumb ass kids taking pics of pounds and shit, and this was 2 years ago. They have been doing this for awhile

Any time I've bene arersted tfor rgaffiti the cops have tried to check out my phone...not only do i not save writers by their rap name (it's usually their first name and then their last initial is the firts letter of what they write), I also don]t flick graffiti with my camera phone.

All they get is flicks of underage dbitches and completely rtandom shit

I don't know why this is new news....I can remember the police lining doods up against the wall making us "turn our pockets into elephant ears" since 7th grade...as far as I knew everything that came out of your pocket was open season for the man. And last I checked, you don't even have to commit a crime to go to jail...

^True story. All of it.

This type of stuff is part of what makes up my job. Google "computer forensics".

You won't hide shit by deleting your txt messages. Also, a locked phone is just a piece of readily available software away from being unlocked. Sim cards included.

If you want to do something dodgy, either keep it away from technology or purchase a program that will properly delete evidence from your computer (by writing over the data with 0's and 1's). Of course, if you're really dodgy, any forensics expert will see an unusual pattern of 0's and 1's and know what you did. Even after overwriting, it is still possible (but EXTREMELY expensive) to undelete the original data.

I'm watching you.

^Ted Kazinsky had it right all along.

Technology is the devil.

cops havnt needed a warrant for years

people in the suburbs need to realize its not like in the movies. Cops want to bust you, they bust in because they smelled weed, got a noise scomplaint, or the good ol anonymous tip. Its hard to go agaqinst a judge when its yourt word vs the cops

civil liberties have been gone longer than ive been able to do anything about it

I remember arguing with my criminal justice teacher in 10th or 11th grade about this shit.

Everytime she'd be trying to tell us about our rights and what cops can and can't do, I'd tell her what they do in the real world including stories of my own encounters.

And alot of other students would chime in and cosign with their own stories.

It still cracks me up to this day how dumbfounded and surprized she would be at this.

I honestly think that she beleived the lies she was teaching.

cops are the most well funded criminal organization in america. The government has to get their piece somehow with seisures and tax money

Teachers are government employees, she would never think to bite the hand that feeds her.She worked there for a reason

^This is so true.

Except I honestly beleive my teacher was just naive and that she actually believed what she was saying.

Like Aybee said, she probably grew up sheltered and never actually had any real-life contact with any cops.

yeah, you need to go ahead and spill the beans on what you do for a living, unless it's military, WE CARE.

I seem to have unintentionally hyped up my boring ass job.

I work for the tax department (not in the US) mainly checking accounting data for large companies (i.e. turnover > $350M) and making sure they are calculating tax correctly/declaring income correctly and a whole bunch of other shit that you don't care about.

The other side of the job is forensics - where the department has reason to believe that a person(s) has created false documents and deleted them. We will charge on in, take a complete image of their hard drive and systematically undelete everything in the slack space* searching for said documents.

In the process EVERYTHING gets undeleted, including such things as: midget porn, home-made porn, child porn and regular porn.

Same applies to cell phones, iPods, palm devices and anything else. If it can store data, we can take data from it.

* For those that don't know how a hard disk works, when you "delete" a file, it doesn't vanish, it is simply renamed to let the OS know that said file can now be overwritten. These files are called "slack space". So if you delete something and it isn't overwritten, it will be sitting there ready to be retrieved in full. Even if it is overwritten, there's still a good chance we will get at least part of it back.

So yeah, sorry to disappoint you.
