KILZ FILLZ
i'm studying for a test which i need to pass in order to get a job. the exam is arithmetic and logic mostly. all i am worried about it the math. so, can anyone break down 'division by multiplication' and 'multiplication by division' for me please? its been years since i have had a math course and all i have is a study guide type book which doesn't really work the problems out for you in examples and answers. tried searching google and all i got was some articles on abstract math and computer science. cheers
Guest shai_hulud
Re: anyone REALLY good at math? My guess is that since there's an inverse relationship between multiplication and division, that you could create a decimal value for a remainder in long division, add that decimal value to the quotient, and multiply the resulting number by the divisor. Keep in mind that I'm not very good at math, but I'm decent at logic. You know what? Ask Poesia. I think he mentioned that he's good at math. Guest shai_hulud
Re: anyone REALLY good at math? Yeah, I have a feeling this has less to do with math and more to do with abstract thinking/problem solving. Post a problem, and we'll take a shot at it. KILZ FILLZ
Re: anyone REALLY good at math? here we go multiplication by division 'rewrite and solve each by using equivalent multipliers. drop the final zeros where appropriate' 350 divided by 16 2/3 division by multiplication 'rewrite and solve each by using division. drop final zeros where appropriate' 654 x 16 2/3 thnx

Poesia [ ] T
Re: anyone REALLY good at math? Im pretty sure its just normal fraction multiplication. Like 350 i terms of 3 meaning 350x3 = 1050/3=350 so 1050/3 divided by 50/3 as 16 2/3 = 50/

Harvey Wallbanger
This thread reminds me how happy I am that I will never, as long as I live, take another math class. It kind of sucked just reading that equation, and I don't even have to think about it or try to solve it or anything.
