I was gonna' do this once. Had the kit and everything.

Then I got too lazy. I used the plastic tubing for some odd project along with some of the other doo-dads and eventually threw out the remains.

Then I went to the store and bought a beer.

Good luck!

The only problem is....It takes 4-6 weeks to be a completely drinkable, flavorful beer. I'm going to taste it at the one week mark, just out of curiosity.

It's not too complicated, and relatively inexpensive. The kit is about 140, plus 35 for the ingredients. You only have to buy the kit once, and per box of ingredients you can make 24 deuce-deuces!

What type of beer did you make, and how did it turn out?

I'm no beer guru, but I can imagine beer could be brewed a million ways depending on ingredients, type of beer (ale/lager), and so forth.

Did you get the Mr.Beer kit?

i made a traditonal ale, i made a light ale, an old family recipe..and now i'm about to make a porter.

5 gallons at a time. about 52 beers....

the first two turned out awesome. the old family recipe is strong (5 lbs of sugar) and very hard to consume. one bottle gets me near drunk.

it's completely easy and so fucking fun. i hate storebought beer, except for delerium nocturnum.

no Mr beer kit... just hops barley extract water and yeast

i'm making a wheat ale

not sure if anyone else does it this way but i'll map it out and if anyone wants to know further just pm me...

you let the the full grain barley sit at 160* F for a half hour

strain it out and add about a gallon of water and bring it to a boil

this is where you add the extract and hops

boil this till there is about a gallon left (since i only made a gallon batch)

prepare the yeast then put it in your jug, funnel in your beer

let it sit for 2-3 weeks depending on the beer for fermantatio

bottle with a specific amount of sugar water for carbonation

and let sit for another 2-4 weeks again depending on the beer

finally drink and enjoy
