Kind of hard to find a balance, I want to take pictures but not spend my life with my phone in my hand. Want to take pictures of what it is, but feel uncomfortable taking pictures of people, and a little uncomfortable taking pictures of some places with people around. How do you guys handle it and does anyone have a book or online learning resource to recommend for learning to take better pictures? I only have my phone but find myself wanting some zoom on the regular. Definitely not wanting some big ass camera, nor more than a few hundred dollar investment. One Man Banned Posted March 4, 2020 Share Posted March 4, 2020 I try not to be in anyone's face w/ my camera w/o their permission or w/o at least letting them see that I'm about to take a pic so they can move. But it depends too, sometimes people are part of a scene like a concert or something. There have been times where I want a person in a shot for movement or size comparison so if I'm set up trying to shoot something like a piece on a wall from across the street and someone's coming and sees me pointing the camera and keeps walking, to me that's also fair to shoot. I like the Canon PowerShot series. Compact/pocket size, pretty decent zoom depending what you get, $200-300. I just put one through upwards of 50,000 pix before having to replace it only because it dropped for the 3rd time.
