One Man Banned
Yesterday. Another suprise visit, this time I went outside pretty close to observe and take photos. Back inside we cracked the back door as this bear chose to walk up to about 5' from us before startling away as my old dog, seeing a bear for the 1st time, went nuts and told it to fuck off.
morton
Fueled up for the outing. If things keep going the way they are maybe we will see the ratio flip, getting pretty close here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pepper_Pike,_Ohio Pepper Pike, the kind of town where you can call the local police department when you are going on vacation and they will make a few extra passes of your house to make sure all is tip top while you are gone. Figuring out where to park was a bit of a challenge as they do not seem to have any for non residents, my idea on driving out was to park at the country club https://goo.gl/maps/6XVyAWmTDUw8iNrP7 but on arrival it made me feel like my vehicle might arouse suspicion so I instead headed on down to the commercial strip, after wasting about 20 minutes trying other lots on for size and either getting the evil eye or just feeling too out of place. Everyone waves here, it is a thing, even the dude driving the landscaping truck waves at you when you walk along. I did not take too many pictures, there are lots of classy houses and everything is super well kept. Even the more modest homes give me the impression that the owners just do not want to front too much. It's funny, I am a bit uncomfortable talking pictures of houses in the hood and in richy richsville but much less so in a standard working class to middle class neighborhood. There were some houses for sale but I could not find the prices online, this one is not for sale but the Tax Value is 433K which seems super cheap, but there are houses around that hit around 2mil. https://myplace.cuyahogacounty.us/ODcyMzQwMjM=?city=NDQ=&searchBy=UGFyY2Vs&searchData=ODcyMzQwMjMgfCBTQ0hORUlERVIsIEJSSUFOIEouICYgQ0FST0xJTkEgQS4gfCA5IEJSQU5EWVdPT0QgRFIgIHwgUEVQUEVSIFBJS0UgfCA0NDEyNA==&dataRequested= It really is a trip, walking through the rich parts of Cleveland. I saw a fresh faced young man, like under 20, driving a convertible Porsche, its just so far removed from other parts of this city and area. Rich or Poor, it all ends in death. 7 1/2 mile walk, with the sun shining the whole time, tough place to park and an even tougher place to piss, just wave with the hand that is not on your pecker and you should be fine. 2 3

morton
Bay Village https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bay_Village,_Ohio An upper middle class suburb west of Cleveland on the shores of Lake Erie, it is what I believe is called an "outer belt" suburb, distinguished from the "inner belt" which are defined by sharing a boarder with the city itself, I had not heard these definitions before moving here, are they in use elsewhere? This is a "Laker" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_freighter this one is probably hauling construction materials to Cleveland from quarries out by Put in Bay, which is on my to do list for a walk if this situation continues. Close enough to Cleveland that they use police tape instead of caution tape. I usually avoid the parks as they are now crowded but the temp is low today keeping out the casuals. It is not like London but you are always under video surveillance within some diameter of Cleveland, allegedly, I do not believe all the signs. SMXXL inspired plant picture. I am a swimmer, I live in Cleveland, finding a pool here is really hard in no small part because all the ones in the burbs are closed to not residents of whatever particular burb it is in. It is frustrating and I do not feel bad for them when I hear they are having budget shortfalls, maybe if you did not restrict your fucking customer base that problem would ease up, it is also not hard to miss the "keeping out the riff raff" angle which really just means keeping out the blacks round here in my estimation. One street offset from the shoreline, pretty nice but not crazy. Along the water, nicer but not by some massive gap like out Bratenahl way. Sale price 400K https://www.remax.com/oh/bay-village/home-details/26219-lake-rd-bay-village-oh-44140/17401159710422220368 Essential. See the different colors in the water, this is after rain and is CSO, I would like to talk to a biologist or someone who knows more about it. Pretty classy house here, it looks like the saved and incorporated an early cabin like structure into the modern product. Their neighbor, much less classy. Easy to find a place to piss. Back off the shoreway I love these wide ass streets. Neat little houses, this is about the size I would like, small enough to keep up easy and with detached garage. Lego inspired? Lets make them put some colonial finishes and contrasting awnings up if they want to build a strip-mall, should we require bunting? Ohio fucking loves their memorials, it is like every strip of highway needs to be named after a fallen officer and every park will commemorate 9-11 3

Most of those pics were taken quite a while back, mate. I just take pics as I go and when they build up to enough for a post or two, I chuck them up. Only the ones of the birds were from today. The green, red and blue bird (Crimson Rosella) seems to be injured, he's been walking around my backyard this afternoon. If he survives the night I'll try and get some animal rescue folk out to take care of him tomorrow.
One Man Banned
Trackside bum camp sprang up overnight. Don't know if they're aware they've placed it near a beaver dam. Should be funny in the dark of night if a beaver comes up there to gnaw some trees. Likely going to scare the crap out of them when a beaver tail slaps the water in the dark. You think you can grow jamon trees? 1

morton
This is Big Creek, presumably the "brook" in Brookside, a neighborhood in Cleveland which is probably considered to be part of the Brooklyn inner belt suburb or Old Brooklyn neighborhood by anyone not local or looking at a map. This is the bridge where the Fulton Rd becomes the Fulton Parkway, sometimes I plan routes to cross as many bridges as possible. RR bridge, tempted to call it a culvert, but think that a culvert can only be for water. Looks like it was a good time, nothing but a field now. Here you have a row of litter trees, lucky for the Cities the State Legislature saw fit to pass a ban on plastic bag bans, helping to ensure the longevity of this majestic species. In the background is the entrance to the Cleveland Zoo, I have yet to visit and now like all kinds of places on my to do list it is closed. Officer, posted. I came here for the Cherry Blossoms, but was premature. Enough of the park. Hitting the streets, pretty nice sector. Pretty nice indeed. An Internet Cafe, further proof that this town is a time warp, even if it is just the sign. Investigating the building led me to this gem of a pic in the map link https://goo.gl/maps/xWRquEsEf5xQha9o7 This building has a for sale sign, but I did not bother crossing the street to read it. Technically it is out of Brookside and in Old Brooklyn the tax value is 268K and does not include the shorter structure to the left. https://myplace.cuyahogacounty.us/NDMyMjYwMDk=?city=Nzg=&searchBy=UGFyY2Vs&searchData=NDMyMjYwMDkgfCA2Nzc5IE1FTVBISVMsIExMQyB8IDY3NzkgTUVNUEhJUyBBVkUgIHwgQlJPT0tMWU4gfCA0NDE0NA==&dataRequested= Some modest apartments. Even though they have been pretty much take out only since forever I understand that many area Chinese restaurants are closing altogether through the shut down due to boycotting over the "Chinese Flu". Bet this guy is liking the price of gas. Big Aerospace union sticker, must be old though as the signage in front is for some medical hustle. The deer are crazy here, there can be so many of them that it is creepy down south a couple miles, and I am sure they must go even downtown once in a while. 3
morton
I was not going to go out on Easter but started getting anxiety that if I did not burn some calories I would have a tough time sleeping, so, for the oontz, I toured the Clark-Fulton. https://case.edu/ech/articles/c/clark-fulton Looking north along Scranton with the lighted intersection in the background at Clark. Tremont to the East and Clark-Fulton to the west. Backside of the abandoned Hostess bakery. @twinky the kid Sailboats is the them today, by the way, general abandoned in the background although I think that some portion of the building is actually in use or ready for use. They are in business still, pretty cool gig I bet. http://www.holtkamporgan.com/ To tie back to Bratenhal, I very highly recommend a concert at https://www.blackstoneorgan.org/ these guys built an organ in their house, it is really great, you are inside the instrument and the whole structure shakes. If you go to the website you will get a pop-up asking if you want updates, throw your email in there and you will get an invitation to a free concert about once a year, all shut down for now of course but still totally awesome. I have a friend who teaches here. Most of my social interaction is in person and pretty casual but I miss it. Shuttered Industrial. Recently on fire. Breaking the no graff content rule, this is on Train which is technically in Ohio City. This is Train, generally more my speed. I dipped up here after a young man saw fit to confront me about my lack of PPE, I did not tell him to "shut his cock holster" as some here have recommended but instead turned a corner and scooted on up here. Back on theme. More of the abandoned and in an abandoned state show, this is on Clark, the main drag. Long time viewers of the day in pics thread may recognize the building on the far left, which was at onetime a strip club but is now a gym of some sort. There is a hierarchy of signage, I think it goes "no trespassing"to"smile you are on camera" to "Area Under Video and Audio Surveillance" to "Beware of Dog" to "Beware of Vicious Dog" to "Fuck the Dog; Beware of Owner (Gun Logo, either revolver in cross section or pistol in profile)" and finally at the top is the homemade beware of owner sign. In any case, the stolen street signs are a nice touch here. This building, and the two beside it, along with a parking lot in the back have a tax value of around a half mil. They are being held by a Foreign LLC, although there is some sort of school on the property, there are lots of shady looking schools around here, I get the feeling that there is widespread charter school fraud of some sort but have not really looked into it, maybe appearances are decieving. https://myplace.cuyahogacounty.us/MDA3MjkwNTU=?city=NzU=&searchBy=UGFyY2Vs&searchData=MDA3MjkwNTU=&dataRequested= I did not take many pictures of houses, most of em are pretty beat and some are being lived in despite looking like they are abandoned. There are a handful of okay houses but no nice sector that I found. I did not pass a single for sale sign, which is in contrast to all my other neighborhood walks so far. There is listing near here for 60K https://www.howardhanna.com/Property/Detail/3343-W-32nd-Street-Cleveland-OH-44109/NorthernOH/4179217 Closing with the sailboat theme, the background is looking across 25th/Pearl Road, which at one time was how people got from Cleveland to Columbus. The building on the other side of 25th is Dickey lanes, an institution of a bowling alley. They are in this video http://cobras.clevelandsgs.com/videos/behind-the-sign-episode-5/ which is featured on this excellent website showcasing hand painted signs in Cleveland http://cobras.clevelandsgs.com/ I have a coworker from East Cleveland, in defending his hometown he has been quick to point out that the Clark-Fulton has a the highest of gun homicide in the city, he is wrong but they are in the running. Overall the per capita rate of gun homicide is about twice that of Chicago and is itself about half that of New Orleans who are at the top. Forgot to insert this one, this is the type of pool you get here as compared to Bay Village. When I was looking at moving out here I was surprised at all the pools on google maps, I thought they were real pools but they are just places to cool off the kiddos in the summer.
