I keep giving the Beastie Boys chances, and they nail it a lot of the time musically...but the rhymes are getting more annoying as time goes on. Yes, we know that Tibet is getting a raw deal and that it's a bad thing. I just don't want to hear about it for half an album. Instrumentals? I'm all over it. It sounds a lot like The In Sounds From Way Out, their first instrumental album from a decade or so ago. Sort of a JBs, Pornosonic kind of feel. I can't think of anyone else making music quite like this today (or in the last thirty years). Top notch. This is one of three CDs I bought this year. I also saw them touring for this album-- they did one formal gala show in each city that was just them playing this and other instrumental funk, no rapping. Awesome stuff.
