Guest shai_hulud
I just went to the Apple website. There is absolutely nothing helpful there. Sorry, rocinhajj. I really doubt (99% sure) you can erase anything by accident on your iPod. Just to be on the safe side, though, you should go to the Apple store so they can tell you how to do it. Good luck. Guest shai_hulud
I don't think you have to do that. I'm going to tell you what I do know. Don't do anything till you are SURE, though. If you plug your iPod into your Mac, it will see it in iTunes. You should be able to take what's on the iPod and copy it to your Mac. The only way you could lose the music is if you reset the iPod or moved- not copied, but MOVED- the files to the Mac, and then misplaced them. As I said, don't take my word for it. Ask the Mac store. After School Special
No no no no. Do NOT plug your ipod into your computer (thought I bet you already have)... If you have auto sync on it will sync it you your computer (where you have no music) So it will delete all your music on your ipod. Turn off autosynch with this link http://www.videojug.com/film/how-to-turn-off-auto-sync-in-itunes-if-you-have-a-pc Download this http://www.yamipod.com/main/modules/home/ Follow directions and get music from your ipod to your computer. Pretty much, but he has a mac. What you want to do, and I'm hoping you have a newer operating system and not an old mac, is open itunes, select itunes from the menu bar at the top next to file, then choose preferences. Click on SYNCING at the far right and then tick the box that says Disable auto syncing for all iphones and ipods. Once you've done that, go http://www.thelittleappfactory.com/application.php?app=iPodRip to download ipod rip for macs. You can now plug your ipod in and use the program to get everything off it and reload it into itunes. This worked for me, but I have a fairly new macbook. Provided you have the latest version of itunes, I don't think it should be a problem. Good luck dude, sincerely.

Good call. I honestly didn't know that. I come from the land of Linux, where you have to run a "mount /mnt/sda" script to access things like USB drives or RAIDs. It seems really counterintuitive and stupid to make your iPod erase everything as a autosync feature. Hear that, jj? Go to the Apple store, talk to them about it. BETELGEUSE
Hey Rochinajj, I dont know if you did anything already, but I had a prob similar to this, I had an ex girlfriends comp, with all my music on it, and only access to my ipod once we broke up, this is how i saved all my music without deleting anything. Go online and find a music program called "SENUTI" You can find it on mac update, or if you do a google search, and download it. Plug your Ipod into your comp, and itunes should automatically come up, usually there are prompts what you wanna do on your ipod, "erase and sync, transfer itunes purcahses etc" but dont click on those, just click on cancel. Open senuti, and there you can transfer all of your songs on your ipod, and playlists, since you have a bigger ipod it might take a while. You can choose where you want to store your music, select your music file in Itunes, or another file on your harddrive. check your computer and see if your music file is still there and if it has all your music, because if it is still there, you will double your shit, and that would take up too much space. If all of your music is indeed gone, you can select in itunes preferences to pull your music from the file folder you selected to do the senuti transfer. And bam all of your music is saved, and once its there, you can sync your ipod back again with your computer, this might take a while too, but since its all the same info, I wouldnt recommend it right away, only if you have new music that you wanna put onto your ipod. I hope this helps. BETELGEUSE.
