Guest YEAHMANWORD

I used to rag on this type of music all the time. A few of my boys would talk about it and I just wasn't in to it....I thought it was all fuckin candy necklace retards. But then I saw Jonathan Peters on Jan 1st 2006 and I was turned completely around. You can listen to house all you want from an mp3 or cd or whatever...but,

there is nothing like seeing a DJ live. Danny Tenaglia, Boris, JP, Calderone, Erick Morillo, Carl Cox....its amazing. You have topless girls and guys wilding out until 1pm. the parties are insane and there are some of the best vibes i've ever experienced at these parties. half the parties are theme parties and are flat out ridiculous with the costumes/dancers etc...

I've only been into this music for 2 years and I've had the time of my life every time I see a DJ at a good club....with the exception of AVB, and tiesto. I live in new york and the dj's who are more trancy draw alot of asians. They are the most annoying fucks and they stink like a chinese restaurant.

In the past year i've seen Boris, JP, Danny Tenaglia, Carl Cox, Victor Calderone, Erick Morillo, Richie Santana, Peter Bailey, David Guetta, Gabriel & Dresden, James Holden, Robbie Rivera, AVB, and armand van helden....I'm sure i'm leaving out a ton of names as well.

The top three were Calderone/Carl Cox who spun on the same night, Tenaglia who is absolutely awesome to watch, and Erick Morillo (resident DJ @ Pacha in Ibiza during the summer).

The worst was AVB. Asian invasion of rude, smelly j/o's. who just bumble around the dance floor and look like idiots. I'm not biased against asians at all, but in NYC they literally bring their grandparents out to these places and make everything awkward.

The parties are some of the funnest and craziest places to be.

*Edit- I was @ chus and ceballos last night who were ill too.

thanks for posting this link IOU, i just got my first MP3 player for x-mas. so i'm downloading tons of mixes from this link, and http://www.deephousemix.com --this will all make my bus ride home more enjoyable.

if you know of any good sites to get some detroit mixes, let me know. if i can find some old ragga mixes, i'd be pretty psyched as well.

Ha, Im going to see Gabriel and Dresden right quick.

Cool thread.

I think Breakfast on Flashover Recordings are fucking fantastic.

the Dubfire Roadkill remix is one of the best releases of 2007.

Plus they just Relased some new stuff over at their labels website.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=AME9nutX45E

Also, I think one of the most underrated guys ut there is Jacques Lu Cont/Stuart Price/Zoot Woman/Les Rhythmes Digitales/Thin White Duke Every thing he remixies is gold, plus his live sets are fantastic.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=9eScUzKud18

A litt bit more electro which Im far more into is Rex The Dog

http://youtube.com/watch?v=uzCFQZRgHPY

A horrible Video and rip but a fantastic rework of The Knifes- Heart Beats

Im sure youve all been over and done with the Justice thing but heres a nice set from the Fader Anniversary party. (its like 2 weeks old so Im sure youve all seen it and heard it before).

http://www.zshare.net/audio/5697192cc6da57

Just Picked up 7 Pryda/Cirez D/Eric Prydz Releases Which are getting some heavy rotation

as of late. The man is a fantastic Producer.

Theres a lot of really good electro/electro house coming out of Chicago/Frisco as of late but it feels so under produced. Id rather not get 40 new remixes/bad releases a day but a few well done ones over a month.

Also, I mentioned a bunch of these in another thread, but Deadmau5 has been killing it.

Does anyone know what he used to make music under or is he that new and that fucking good?

Frankie Bones, Adam X and Heather Heart.

Heather was totally underrated in my opinion. I've watched Frankie destroy places. Great energy. Seen Adam X a few times at massive parties, just beating hard dark sounds, but Heather gets real slick.

Frankie Bones & Adam X. Big Graff writers from NY.. This is a good thread. Check out these kids from the BX. Up and coming!!!

Look at some more of their vids!

TMB are the future.

Yes They Are!! I catch them when ever they are in NY or NJ. That's really the only times I ever go out anymore. back in the day Danny Tenaglia, Eric Morillo, Jonathan Peters, Victor Calderone... Can't get into it anymore. The Vibe at all TMB parties is amazing!
