How the hell can you tell that it's a solid gold and not a solid cold, it's so rusted beyond recognition from a picture...

 

Could be either or.

 

There's an easy way to tell, you know, if you can't read the paint job. Solid Golds are shorter because they don't have the room for the reefer compartment. An old Solid Cold (much rarer and less likely to be used as a storage car) would have some evidence on one end of having a serviceable reefer and sliding door to access it. I vote Solid Gold. Still a rockin car, and one that has seen its numbers drop heavily due to the scrapping torch.
