my mother makes these and they are to die for.

HP, try my microwave trick. It works.

Your way is better (it's the real way to poach eggs), but ANYONE can do the microwave trick. It's a no-brainer.

I forgot to mention a little vinegar. Good call.

We still need to have a recipe thread in Ch. 0, or bump an old one.

I've never done it. Burned an egg, that is. What do you guys cook with, napalm?

And I'll bet you never even TRIED to microwave an egg. I thought it was crazy, but it actually works.

Apparently, I have a really low power microwave.

And when I say, burn an egg, I don't mean, throw it in there and go take a whiz while it's cooking.

I mean, it's hard to do if you keep an eye on it.

You cook anything on high heat in a frying pan for longer than a few minutes, OF COURSE it's gonna look like charcoal and smell bad.

well if you're talking about microwaving, then yes it's a lot harder to burn it

i don't think i've ever burned anything in a microwave.

why not poach the egg by boiling water on the stove. you get a fuller flavor, a more thoroughly cooked egg, and you don't get the radiation.

men and "independent women" of the 90's-00's seem to be scared of stoves and ovens for some reason.
