CALIgula
whats even more crazy is that the news story called you by your 12oz name! no...im just kiding....ive been in a couple bad accidents too....but nothing that bad...damn...you were upside down and shit! Milk Grenades
yes! the scariest thing i've experienced. i probably wouldn't feel as bad about it if my daughter wasn't in the car with me. we're fine, but damn i feel a lot of guilt! Milk Grenades
oh, and if anyone has any experience or advice, i'd appreciate it. i was cited by the officer while i was in the hospital on the gurney. the bail amount is $751, and I don't remember seeing a court date on it. anyway, i will look it over tonight and see who i need to contact for court or to pay it off. honestly, i want to fight it and don't really remember what happened, except i think i wasn't at fault. there's still an investigation going on, however, that's for the insurance claims. is there a possibility of me being not guilty, even though the newspaper article already deemed me to be at fault? count chocula
sue the newspaper for slander they will pay the fees oh they will pay.
CALIgula
if theres one thing ive learned is 'if you have the time to fight it....then fight it' seriously....i know youre probably busy but if you feel you werent at fault, then theres no reason why you cant try to get the ticket dismissed...or at least reduced. Milk Grenades
well, so far i haven't admitted any guilt, because i honestly don't remember. but, what i do remember is, putting on my blinker and checking my blind spot. there was no car. it's not like i'm driving a huge van or truck. as you can see my car is pretty small. what i was told by the officer though, was that there were two other vehicles involved, neither of which i seen at the accident. there was a guy that came over and put his jacket on my daughter. he was probably around 18 or 19. he was the one that later showed up to the hospital, apparently because his mom told him to, but wasn't injured and supposedly has a small dent to his car. (my roommate works in the ER and was there when all of this happened, even though i'm not supposed to know some of these things, i do.) his story claims that he saw me trying to get over and honked numerous times. obviously i didn't hear him honk, or see him or i wouldn't have switched lanes causing my daughter and i to be harmed or get into an accident. he could have easily been switching lanes the same time as me and wasn't paying attention when i got over. i remember asking the paramedics, if any other cars were involved cause i only saw mine. they claimed to not have seen any other cars. and i remember laying in the ambulance thinking someone hit me and just drove off. Milk Grenades
not really...it all happened pretty quick. i don't even really remember getting out of the car.
StupidDope
what is the citation for exactly? i was in a car accident a few months ago, and while the driver at fault was able to drive away after exchanging information, my car was sitting the wrong way and half way out of the shoulder in traffic. and i was told by the police (they dont come unless someone is injured or your car is as follows...) that if i cant move my car, they are within the law to cite me for blocking traffic. also, if the police dispatch a tow truck, it is more expensive. this information might only pertain to my city. but there u go. good luck recoverying
Milk Grenades
the citation was for illegal lane change..... here's the picture. i had poop man bob delete it from the first page since it linked directly to the real news article.

Milk Grenades
that's what i'm wondering...there's no cars even near me, and i didn't remember seeing any when i was out of my car.
c-walk
thats kind fucked up cause i know that the last time i hit someone (my fault) the cop didnt let either of us leave the scene before EVERYTHING was taken care of, even if there was another car involved (ex: the 18, 19yr old kid) thats some tpe of shitty ass neglect on the cops part for lettin him just take off like that, there should be some type of statement or something you could refer to... Weapon X
My gosh, you're so lucky! I'm very glad you and your kid are cool now. I am a very paranoid driver. I constantly think about getting into a huge accident, and I don't even trust my mirrors that much. I turn my head 180 degrees before every lane change. metronome
Am I the only one who finds it funny that she posts a picture fo herself driving in a thread about her car accident? don't worry, the irony isn't lost on me either. I haven't read the whole thread yet, I just want to know what exactly you hit that made your car roll ... I hit some black ice in an F150 and hit the median going about 45mph and THAT didn't flip the truck so something pretty gnarly must have happened to you
