Thank you rocinhajj for providing some perspective. i've felt the exact same way for a good while now. and it's not just a lack of community where i live, i see it everywhere i go. it sucks, somewhere along the way we lost our sense of community, which also ties in to this: I would rather work directly to get what I need (hunt, gather, fish) than work for someone who then gives me what I need, but that is not feasible in this society. the hunter/gatherer way of life (at least in our society) is so long gone that it's not even funny. i could ramble on about this for a good long while, or you could just read "Ishmael" by Daniel Quinn. that book puts it all in perspective really well. rocinhajj Posted October 20, 2007 Share Posted October 20, 2007 there is no comunity in the USA becase everybody is chasing the amercian dream which is MONEY..so nobody have time for friends or people anymore..people are replace by THINGS..that new car or House is more important than your neighbor or even family.. sad but true..I would rather be poor living in my Favela and have my people who care about me, then be rich and LONELY becase I do not know to trust who is my friend becase of me or my money.. just my feelings.. Ele estava esperando a namorada desembarcar quando foi preso por agentes da Coordenadoria de Inteligência da Polícia Civil (Cinpol), que estariam no mesmo avião que ela. A partir de uma operação feita na Rocinha em agosto, prejudicada por vazamento de informações, os agentes conseguiram colher vários dados de moradores da favela através de denúncias. Os policiais passaram a acompanhar a movimentação do traficante e tentaram prendê-lo outras duas vezes, obtendo sucesso hoje. Por conta do apoio dos moradores, a ação foi batizada como Operação Cidadão Carioca. Segundo informações ainda não confirmadas oficialmente, Joca fugiu há dois meses da Rocinha com R$ 2,5 milhões, dinheiro objetido do lucro com o tráfico de drogas na favela desde novembro de 2005. Ele teria passado pelo estado de Mato Grosso e pelo Distrito Federal, antes de ir para o Ceará. Policiais dos três locais apoiaram a Cinpol nesta prisão. Um avião da Força Aérea Brasileira (FAB) deve trazer o traficante ao Rio amanhã. Uma entrevista coletiva para detalhar a operação foi marcada para amanhã, às 10h, na Secretaria de Segurança Pública, com participação do secretário José Mariano Beltrame e do chefe de Polícia Civil, Gilberto Ribeiro. Além da venda de drogas, Joca é investigado pela execução, em março, de três adolescentes na Rocinha. Uma das vítimas seria Suellen Moreira, de 15 anos, que namorava o policial Sérgio Luiz de Albuquerque, detido em agosto por suspeita de vazar informações sobre uma operação na favela. rocinhajj Posted October 22, 2007 Share Posted October 22, 2007 to the post above: ok this story basically says that "Joca" the head drug lord of Rocinha was caught and put in prison in Fortaleza (is place in the Northeast of Brazil) after trying to meet his girlfriend at the airport..In august he escaped Rocinha with 2.5 milion reais (about 1 million dollars US)..but is also being inspected (?) about an execution of three people from Rocinha..One of the people was a girlfreind of a policeman.
