my computer crashed and i lost everytihng. music, pictures, photos, scanned sketches, documents, assignments, etc. all gone in the blink of an eye when the screen went black and yelled BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP and so on. while i was waiting for the recovery disks in the mail, my clearwire modem broke so even when i had a computer, i had no internet. finally ive got my empty-as-fuck computer up and running but oh gee hey now im sick and working shifts that get me up at 4:30 in the morning.

things could be worse, but nothing is more irritating then losing everyithng on your computer. nothing.

sincerly,

problem solved

Ha as if. So i decided it would be fun to rename my hard drive, why not right? Ive seen other people do it... Well it turns out if you do then it forgets everything; preferences, music, bookmarks, fonts, etc. So then I had to re-enter all my preferences, relink my music and fonts, try to remember all my bookmarks and I have no idea what was on my to do list because it deleted what i had written on my stickies.

In essence, FUCK.

The analogy my dad uses is, as a photographer, he knows that he can put a 10x8 transparency in a drawer and come back in 10 years and it will still be there. But with digital files he has no idea where his photographs will be in 10 years. On a dvd somewhere? On a HD somewhere? On the internet somewhere?!

But yeah, back up your shit.
