also NOTHING johnny cash did was underground. at one point of time, he was the best selling artist in all of america. I guess its underground now which is a damn shame because everyone should hear his words and the world could be a better place.

I always loved b-boppin to Cash & Poison w/Johnny Rebel while trying to find spots. What's the song they play at the begining of the Powell video, Strip Mall Hero's?

"I hear the train a commin. It's rollin round the bend. And I aint seen the sun shine, since, I don't know when."

Has anyone else noticed that the tune to "the night hank williams came to town" is almost identicle to "the night they drove old dixie down?" It seems to me that ol' johny was doing a little recycling.

my friend got "born to be a roughneck" tattooed across his shoulders because it was a line from a johnny cash song.

turns out johhny didn't write the song, and my friend found out about a month after he got the tattoo.

hey, if he can laugh about it, so can i.

*edit for spel chekk

for anyone looking for a very good collection of johnny cash songs

id reccomend going to your local record store

and picking up the essential johnny cash collection (1956-88?)

i think it came out sometime last year

its 3 cds jam packed with about 25 songs each

and retails for a scant 25-30 bucks
