Ko SprueOne
Props, Nice model Mawks. Describe the materials (type of wood) and size and scale, if you would.
mawks
ya sure, it was just built at an 1/8" = 1'-0" scale, and I just used basswood for the model. Nothing too complicated. Will be posting some new models soon.
Ko SprueOne
right ons. Did you cut the material with an Exacto or razor saw? Monochromatic models built as the natural material are actually hard to do because the requirement to look clean. Otherwise, putty and paint can cover flaws and imperfections, glue stains etc. Looks good
mawks
sorry forgot about checking this thread.. but, I cut the material using mostly my exacto and for the 8th inch and 16th inch basswood sticks I used one of these:

Port-A-John Enthusiest
Those models have always been really inspirering to me. Their was a kid at the college i used to goto that did Architecture, he was a total fag...but the model he did of a building was really cool. I hope to see more in this thread. artlover
what exactly is civil engineering and when pursuing a degree in it what does that entail. I want to get a major in an artistic field but am interested in trying to get a minor in something of this sort, designing houses and buidlings
Ko SprueOne
Civil Engineering is a broad term really. This discipline includes public works structures such as bridges, tunnels, roads and highways, water shed control, etc... CIVIL separates this from MILITARY Engineering and combat engineers also known as Sappers.

exparefroft
M O D E L Architectural Civil Engineering I dont know how the school system is in your county and how much you want to accomplish, but if you dont want to spend your entire lifetime in school and just want to finish something basic, then I would say, finish some program to be a draftsman assistant and take few architecture classes. Then work as a draftsman at an architectural firm, which is little more simple and little less responsibilites than at engineering firm...
