Poop Man Bob
How do they hook to the wall and not pull out the dry wall? I'd imagine he either screws 'em into the studs (no homo) or uses drywall anchors.
CILONE/SK
Even if they screw them to studs, the weight on the shelves will cause them to sag or break in a very short time. I would not put a TV on anything like that. I build alot of shelves and they all sag if the span is too far when they are supported on TWO sides. These are only supported on one side and even if they are connected to the wall with something that will never break, the shelves will start to sag from their own weight in less then a few months. I saw some sheelves like this in Ikea and I remember they were not really well made.
iloveboxcars
tv isnt on a shelf. all things in ikea are not well made. it works fine enolic. this was posted earlier (http://www.rd.com/images/tfhimport/2000/Oct00_Simple_Shelves/20001001_Simple_Shelves_page001img001_size2.jpg) which works fine. shelves arent hollowed all the way through, just enough so the brace bottoms out. CILONE/SK
How much weight is being put on them? If they are made like a hollowed-core door, then all that is in the middle is really thin plywood braces. How long have yours been up?
