Wow! When I suggested this in the 1000 Journals thread yesterday, I didn’t think that anybody else would be down. I guess I was wrong. This is amazing.

 

When the book is finished, it should definitely go to Raven. He’s given us a tool to communicate and learn from each other, and I think it’s time we give something back to him. What he decides to do with it, after we give it to him, is his choice.

 

Also, I don’t think we should limit ourselves to just sketching. If you want to throw up some kind of collage thing, or write something, or just glue in some flix, that’s cool.

RULES, SUGGESTIONS N' SHIT: (taken from all over)

 

- How many book sshould we send out total?

- Are these to be regular bouded blackbooks? And if so, how many pages? What

about wirebound blackbooks?

- How will the list be assessed? Will int be in the book, or should someone

have control of an e-mail list. For example we could have a confirmation/notification

of pick-up and delivery of the book(s). This way one person from 12oz. can tell

us who's next and we won't have to display our address to everyone.

- Your entries can be anything, except for bitching about other board members from 12oz.

(Leave it on the board fellas)

- How many pages does each person get to use? Maybe this should depend on how many

books and how many people are involved?

- As for the cover(s) I think we should either:

a: each tag our own version of "12 oz journal" or "12 oz prophet"...

b: each tag our own name on the cover

(Keep in mind this should be a SMALL tag!)

- There should be the 5 day limit, NO MORE!

After the journal is completed, full or whatever we should have a drawing of who should

get the book (It's "fair and sqaure" at least)

- We could even use Santa's idea of publishing it for our own use...

 

 

IF YOU WANT TO TRADE PLACES WITH SOMEONE: MAKE SURE YOU BOTH AGREE WITH IT. Don't start adding yourself

I supose that this thread will work as a guide.

Everyone that gets the book on his hands will say so.

One should make a post telling when he got it, post a pic of what he did on it, and posting again the day he sends it to the next.

 

I think that the book should be big, A4 size with 200 pages.

Each one could use one page(plenty of space for that kind of work)

I thing that for the start we should have one book...

See how it goes, publishing, second books and al that come second at the moment.

 

As far as reaching june already, it aint bad if we keep posting what we do, eventually the book will end. And meanwhile we will know whats goin on.

i am glad that this has turned out the way it has. keep alert on seekings point that we are already into June with this and that can cause problems in terms of addresses... so wait until you hear from the person in front of you before you throw your address. and person emailing to the receiverdont email the person until you have the book in your hands.

 

as for other ideas... i think it would be a neat idea to see the book after it is complete. i am proposing a reverse sending and then directly to raven. postage is a buck or two overseas is about 3 it doesnt need to go UPS 1 day early am just send it library rate at your local post office. and remember envelopes and packaging are a really nice way to say i love you to the next person in line, you get to give them something that if theyd like to keep can. a good way to make connections and friends. i really think the reverse sending is an amazing idea... then we get to see what WE did before it disappears. NIPPLES-GALORE was on point with the mini website. but i also think exploring publishing ideas is a realy fantastic idea. someone in the crew get intouch with the raven and let him know our plan and let him know our thoughts, in fact there has to be at least one page left for him.

 

well anymore ideas let them fly and by tonite i hope to solidify everything and i will put it on a webpage for us.

Please use a box and some bubble-wrap when you send the book on to the next person. It might cost a buck or two more, but I don't want the book to be falling apart when it's finished. Treat the book like it was important (because it is).

 

This is great. I'd like to see Joker, Ouija, Cracked Ass, and Beardo in the book too. As for the cover ... I think it should stay untouched (all black), as if to say, "There's nothing special here." But when you open it, you're blown away by the creativity inside. Just a thought ... you guys can do whatever you like.

my thoughts on the subject....

 

before we get too caught up in what to do with the final product, i think we should actually get the book moving. it would be nice to publish it perhaps, but lets be realistic, until we know what we have, we dont know if anyone will want to purchase such a thing. for now, lets just worry about making 'art', not making a 'product.'

 

i too agree that raven should without a doubt get the final product. if anyone has a real problem with that, then perhaps you should remember that your a no-one who is devoting one page of your art to a larger product.

 

cover - who cares? i like the idea of keeping it just black. either that, or everyone gets to add one sticker to it. 'hello my name is' sized. we should have enough room to do it without covering anyone up. seems fair to me.

 

we should really consolidate the list a little bit, so that all the people over in europe get it at roughly the same time. that way we dont have to keep sending it over seas. not like the money matters, but with this big war and what not, mail is already slower. mail that has to clear customs will be even worse.

 

i have a feeling that a few of the people who signed up for this will have dropped off the board before its time for them to get the book. because of this, someone will need to play 'team captain' and keep a list of everyone who is on the project. they should have an email address that we can all send to when we get the book, so they will know exactly where its at, and where it needs to go to next. once you get the book, email them, they will give you the next persons email, you contact them about getting their address.

 

ok, just some afternoon thoughts on the subject....

 

 

when we get it all sussed out, i'll stick this in the vault so its all archived as well.

sounds good to mee, i like the reverse idea. i also have no problem giving out my adress, its no big deal. id like to see the book before it goes off to raven. damn what a grat idea this is, someone take charge, i reccomend boxcarwilly, i have no problems mailing to euroupe either, or putting in a box/parcel to ship either, i dont want the last guy to get a book thats beat to shit. i dunno, im just down for anything. keep me posted. also, some folks may have it for 5 days some may have it for 1, so with a maximum of reaching to june its only an estimation which could be shorter. anywasy im not making sense..... kep me posted.

actualy, my june estimate was without taking into account the 3 or 4 days it will take to mail it to the next person. so realisticly, were looking at 8 days or so per person (average) with 30 people on the list, thats what, 35 weeks? not trying to rain on anyones parade, just having fun with math.

Good points, Seeking. I too think that Europe should be consolidated so that it only has to make that trip once. You also made a good point about this whole thing. It is not a product. It is a piece of art, put together by lots of people, for no other purpose than to say they did it. If it ends up being something bigger down the road, then great, but lets not lose sight of the real goal behind all this.
