T4M*
What's underneath the vinyl on the bad stable? I used to replace the "matt" with a piece of paper to make the vinyl more "loose" for Scratching. Did notice it wasn't grabbing the vinyl right, but my crabs were sik. @LUGR

Out of no where, imagine hearing this : I get people off guard, than drop a phat beat, or remix the song to the new theme. In other words, I use Glitch to transition to new Mix. That's nostalgic, I like it. OGs would get it.

I tried removing the plastic slip mat and it still lags. When o pull the record back and release it, it doesn’t jump forward…..super sluggish….super annoying. Still possible to beat match but a bit more challenging and takes corrections. All good though still learning. I did the quick mix exercise you recommended yesterday, I think I fizzled out in the 4 range. Did worse today, but found a pretty cool mix I like. I’ll keep at it. Need to pick up some more instrumentals. these setting match on both tables, but could any of these need to be adjusted?

LUGR
Dang, that dude table goes at warp speed! Thanks, I’ll dig in to it at some point. It’s still usable just takes a bit of extra effort.

Tails0nE
appreciate it @T4M* i know i was gonna upload the mp3 version of that last night but i got hella tired after work.. woke up this morning and went through some other beats ive been fucking with and had this one i recently did.. some video i found of Mansur Brown playing his guitar in his backyard or something.. sounded cool so i figured let me try something out with it.. its very rough draft type shit in its early stages.. i feel like the sample is too sharp or high in certain parts because of the trippy ambient sounds he was using on his pedals so i might mess with that a bit, change the kicks up here and there, add some other type of percussion maybe to switch it up a bit.. thoughts..? ill try and upload others soon..
Joker
I have absolutely no idea how to create music. I admit that I was one of those people who thought making beats and building a song on a computer would be super-easy only to learn that it is not. It is frustrating to see someone tap a few buttons and there's a body-moving song underway, even when it's parts of an existing song. One of those people is Red Means Recording. I have been following his Youtube channel for a few years and while I have no idea what he's doing to create these songs I am always drawn into his videos, especially the ones where he uses the Teenage Engineering OP-1. Just watching him push buttons for thirty minutes to create beats and build a song is enjoyable, for some reason. Anyway, his latest video is really good. I confess I didn't know who CLPPNG was prior to this video, but then I haven't really listened to or kept up with Hip-Hop since the very early 90s. After looking into them I was kind of in awe that they aren't bigger than they are. Wanted to share this but wasn't sure where to put it. Thought this thread might be a good place. 2
T4M*
A lot of instruments are moving towards "Stand Alone" status. When producing a beat right on the spot (live), the instrument used has fancy features that will make your life easy, and has features to create amazing sounds. The downfall of these new fancy gadgets, is the instruction Manuels and the amount of time needed to get a set ready. Homeboy is using a groove box, puts everything in the right TEMPO on the fly. Making presets takes time, once you save your work throughout time, than you will also be at a point where you just pressing buttons. I get that a lot when I DJ. I don't mind a crew behind me seeing what I'm doing and seeing me just press buttons and create fancy transitions. Making DJ sets is simpler than making beat sets in my opinion. Most of my time is spent on creating Hot Cues, organizing the music files, and making back up mixes for technical difficulties. I did try out the Launchpad and it was fun for awhile: Now I use it for samples. Same thing, you can create a beat on the fly, you can't modify the sounds, just plays sounds as is. 1 1

Here's the sample I used Super tripping sounding.. dude actually has some super dope stuff.. Was thinking about using the very ominous sounding intro as said intro for the beat but don't wanna use too much you know.. also I pretty much have the patterns good to go with little stuff I wanna add or change but I mainly gotta get it sounding right.. I played it in my car and just now on my Marshall Bluetooth speaker and it sounds different from my headphones when I'm working on it.. my concern is the highs really I don't want them to be too tinny or become distorted but at the same time don't want them to overpower the rest of the instruments.. just gotta fuck with it some more and look up more vids on mastering as well as figuring out a topic for this beat if I were to write to it.. 1

Corpseinarug
Huh I forgot if I posted in here before. My office is full of 3 things - Computers, Hash making shit and music making shit. Christ, i've got 3 amps stacked on eachother behind me and 5 guitars. Anyway here's a dirty south rap beat I made when I got high. ignantrapsong.mp3 Overall was made in FLstudio. I think I used Serum for the leads, and bass. Maybe Diva too? I forget. Some fuckin 808 software to give the bass it's depth and some hi-fi gun/explosion sound pack I downloaded god knows how long ago. annoyingasfuckbutcatchyICANTBELIEVEIWORKEDONITTHISLONGnew.mp3 More FL studio. I ate some acid and decided to arpeggiate a random riff then chop it, chop it more, chop it more, chop it more, stack tracks together and other things I forgot I did. Pretty much 100% the base arpeggiated riff that was messed with over and over and over Edited Sunday at 03:46 PM by Corpseinarug 2

Corpseinarug
Those are my 2 mainstays, I fuck around with a lot of other ones but I always end up going back to those for bass and leads. For actual stringed instruments I usually run things through ableton and use either amplitube or whatever the hell the line 6 software is with ezdrummer to just pick random grooves.
nicklesndimes
@Corpseinarug are you playing a bass through that? what is that??
Corpseinarug
Yes a 94 fender Mexi Jazz through a focus focusrite 2i2 scarlet into ableton with Amplitube 6 handling that vst and ezdrummer 3 doing the drums. Really that wasn't something fancy it's just a super simple riff I made off the top of my head to play nice with the beat
