for the record, i bit abuse, not joker.

and i made my mark as well.

of course my mark was the final nail hole in jer's coffin, but whatever. ha.

there are hacks and frauds in every facet of life. some of those people possess great technical skill with allows them to front in a more convincing manner, but im not fooled. be it abstract, fine art, whatever, i go by feel. usually my feeling is mistrust, frustration, anoyance, sadness and emptyness. ha. when i can find art that does not make me feel that, i know i've got someone who's genuine.

innocuous, neutral backgroud: check

plexiglass overlay to create shadows/depth/kitch: check

industrial silver hardware (which for god knows what reason everyone, myself included, always really likes alot): check

every color in the wheel: check

organic swirls: check

technical, illustrator style bits: check

overspray/drips: check

anyone ever seen those mock 'personality profiles' that you read and it seems to nail you to a T, but then you read the background info, and realize that it's intentionally written with such double speak that it would appeal to 95% of the people reading it? thats what stuff like this sort of reminds me of. it's not 'bad' at all. there are definitely parts of it i like alot, but as a whole it does much less for me. its too easy. it comes across (to me anyway) as done to impress people, rather than to express something. i dont have much interest in art that wants to be liked, i'd rather look at art that needed to be made.

damn, i like those pieces too but i really get what you are saying seeking. they are mesmerizing and they do distract me. maybe too much. heres some manipulated polaroids for ya

This thread is a godsend. I think I'm going to start painting again. Although most of my work is not abstract I think I'm going to try my hand at it again. Ill post up once I make progress.

Just so Im not wasting space two of my piece the first is from 10th grade and the second is from my first year in college:

saw this post coming from a mile away. i posted an old abstact from 10th grade and my first attempt at drawing a tattoo and your hating on me?

You must have a pretty terrible life if you have to come on the internet and poke fun at people to feel good about yourself.

i just couldnt help but notice that in both instances youre doing something thats not your normal style, (tattoos, abstracts,) but youre going to give it the ol college try and keep us updated on your progress.

have you also not noticed that everyone who posted in both of those threads blows your shit out of the water?

point is, keep "trying to develop a new style" to yourself until youve actually done it.

Yeah i hear you i have been getting blacked out drunk, waking up not knowing how i got home noticing my brand new car is smashed and then still partying the same way for the last 3 years. It was a good run im still alive have no regrets, but art still was calling me even in all the success in life. It is something you cant replace even with million dolar houses and red sprts cars costing 250K.

i recently replaced my million dollar home with a one bedroom apartment, and my quarter mill sportscar with a hand me down whip from a deceased relative.

it's kind of my attempt to get 'back to basics' and see how the common folks live. im trying to tap into that 'primal' sort of art. you know, that real base level shit that speaks to factory workers and machineists. im thinking of calling it 'porn', and featuring titties. i smell a hit.

yup those were the days the easy life, waking up at 1pm off the couch that was my bedroom. Rolling over playing video games for about 12 hrs in a row. Walking to the store cause i had no car. Gettting drunk during the day because there wasnt anything better to do. Then all of sudden my girlfriend left me im not sure why i showered atleast once every3 days. I came to a realization that a 27 year old man should be making a career for himself. I set off and never looked back. Its funny what a little motivation in life can get you. THen when you have it you really could care less as you become a slave to what you have amassed and become. Enough about me wheres some pictures.

Come on people. Don't let my thread die!

this is really bad ass. paper or canvas?

poesia: you ever messed with 3d studio max?

i'm very curious to see where some of you (the old SINS guys)

would take that.

a few years ago i sent joker a disc with that program, but

didn't realize he only uses a macintosh, so it never worked

out where he was able to use that stuff.

I think it would be harder to figure out where to put it. In order to display it in the best manner on the body.

and Casek i never had patience for anything when it came to artwork, as you can see by my style

is pretty loose due to my not wanting to slow down much trying to capture more movement and

emotion in my work. Jerry i think would be more inclined to work in that medium due to his strict

patience and detail to his line work and overall aesthetic. He is able to still capture that sublime

though through detail which as most of us know that is almost impossible. Thats what makes

Jerry Jerry. Amazing. I would like to see his work in those mediums but in a form not to create

an artificial feeling. Thats the hardest part about working with computers in my eyes, it

disconnects you from the medium so how do you paint with nothing. i admire the work on the

computer and have ideas for using it on walls. But it takes time and expirementation, which i

have a lack of.

I actually am looking into having someone do work for me as far as taking my ideas and

sketches or paintings and transfering into installation work through new printing mediums.

But i would have to implement some form of my DNA into the final product. As like i said

the aura of the person the imprint of the artist is something that makes a work of art. Im

not trying to be like Kostabi or some Fuckoff like that, and have people paint my pictures.

But with New technology and endless mediums the world is making us disconnect from the

art in some ways through processes of manafacture. I hope to find a balance of both in the

future, but these are all endless thoughts circling in my head till i have time.

So in short im not sure i would ever have the time to learn or want to learn the

programs like studio or maya but i wouldnt mind using the technology be used in the

process of creating a work of art.

thanks very much for the thoughtful reply.

when i mailed jerry the disc with 3d studio, that's

what i was trying to bring him into.

especially since he works a lot with illustrator,

as 3d studio max has an excellent import/export feature

for .ai's

as for digital stuff, i feel biomechanical when i work on such things

as 3d. it's just another medium for me, but i feel really comfortable with

it, even more so than painting or drawing sometimes.

personally, i cant stand anything done on the computer. it feels so cold and dead. even jer's computer stuff, ive never been a fan of. just too far removed for me. im not into comic books at all, but when i look at them and they're colored in photoshop, i want to piss all over them.

P,

painting would be from stations of the cross. either 'first' or 'fifth station'. one bar down the back of one leg, one bar down the other. (not sure if you have access to the pics, i know fifth is online.).
