Any time I'm in Houston I try and get to that collection. The first time I saw that GIANT TWOMBLY I freaked out. The light is all diffused in the room so it gives a strange feel to the work. Although I don't think it's as successful as some of his other paintings the scope of it is impressive. Some times his paintings look really forced to me.

 

Crooked: Did you like the Asia Arts show that was up last year. I was there that weekend and swindled a press pass for the pre-show opening. Good stuff.

yeah i was probably back at school.

 

 

my favorite thing that has been up there has been the south american abstract art from the early to mid 20th century.

 

that was up most of the summer while i was home. i didn't quite get the scoop if it was in their collection or only visiting. either way it was some bomb shit.

due to the boredom that ensues with a lazy sunday i went lurking in my basement and found a painting i did for me mum back in the 6th grade, this was my first attempt at abastract painting..i hated it,but my art teacher and my mom loved it. lol i think it's because im just a boring guy.
