It may seem counterintuitive, but I tend to think our mastery of rational thought and scientific revolution is actually one of the main reasons for our population issue to date. Medicine alone is responsible for way too many people being alive that wouldn't otherwise. Not only that, but think about our propensity to chane environments through technological advancement. It is our rational impulse at all that removes us from our earthly bounds. Ironic that rationality is the most animal thing about us. medicine that prolongs life is for the most part readily available to first world nations, which for the most part don't carry population problems (like south asian countries, etc...) and I said for the most part too many times in this thread Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
