yeah fuck the iphone. I'm not a hater just to hate, because, sure it's "cool" but it's overpriced as fuck for what it does. People are making it out to be the next ipod, but the ipod is expensive enough at 300, this shit is 600 WITH a 2 year plan!?! fuckouttahere!

THIS is my next phone. A nice little upgrade from my PPC-6700, and I'll be paying about 150 for it, wholesale. gotta love niggas that have access to sprint supply trucks:

At&t Phone. it would be cool if it worked for the other companies. Alltel thinks they are the shit. At the mall they always go "HEY! which phone you got?" and fuken talk you into buyin their shit.

Two biggest issues to date

No third party apps as of yet.

And no specs on what the data packages will be.

If third party apps are to be written via web programing languages (as per Job's most recent statement) then one may assume that they will use minutes to open any third party application each time it is to be used.

Basically, until the phone can be written for without the app being accessed from a webpage, then I don't want it. Most tech analysts were predicting later in the year for that to happen.

I say give it seven months. Then pick one up. Price drop, better script writing, first gen bugs worked out, etc.

Personally, I won't get one for the simple issue of having to go to Cingular to get it. But, I'm hoping it will be WILDLY successful so providers like verizon will be forced to change their tactics of locking out features of devices and stifling innovation by doing so... and combine that with other phone manufacturers being forced to step up their games, we will see some interesting devices for all. I'll get one for the Lady though.

no. wrong. not all phones have gps in them.... and that's a paranoid delusion to think they'd be spending money on that technology 5 years ago when it wasn't as affordable as it is now.

The govt doesn't really give two shits about what you did last night when you were drinking... actually your friend that you'd be on the phone with doesn't either... ha STAB

edit: don't misconstrue my words either... I'm sure the iphone will have gps capability, but not ALL phones have it.

old phones. but all the new phones have it required buy that 9/11 bill. if you try and connect an old phone they will say you cant because it doesnt have gps

I think the most interesting bit of news will be the amount of sales and the amount of new accounts that folks open at Cingular. The reason I think it will be interesting is because If you consider how many folks are dead-set on getting one and don't care about having to buy out there existing plan with X company so they can switch... the numbers are incredible. How is this kind of migration to one company going to affect other mobile companies... hardware and phone service companies? How will it affect Cingular's coverage? How will it affect Apple's & Cingular's stock? How will it affect Samsung, Nokia, Motorola and so on?

There's been a lot of predictions thrown about regarding the first six months of this phones release and if any of them come true it's going to be interesting.
