hatetown
if i run out of room and have to go over the numbers, ill usually just write them down then paint them back out after im finished. one of my homeys has number stencils and just stencils the original numbers back over the finished piece. toxic one
even re-painting the numbers doesn't guaranty that your piece wouln't get stamped.
hatetown
no but it betters your chances...of not getting stamped. :scrambled:

hatetown
im guessing that if a railworker sees a wholecar hes only gonna stamp the numbers back..probably wouldnt buff the entire wholecar

Cracked Ass
True. It contains maintenance info, particularly on the brakes, which is not available elsewhere. Whereas the car number is also up high on the ends, and in the last few years also on the wheel trucks. As for wholecars...avoiding the info is easy, and the stuff you go around has less impact on the finished product because it's so big.

bentone
you don't have to tape off the whole black box, just tape off the important stuff in there, like build date and when shit was rebuilt. tape off any numbers or info inside it. ive seen a lot of stuff not get stamped when you do that. dzenomedia
ran into the workers couple of weeks ago and they basically said DO NOT paint over the numbers, don't leave trash around, and do not break into the cars. they didn't give a shit about painting them, but just follow those 3 rules. dzenomedia
plus I don't go over numbers cause that means they have to pull the train off the line to get it stamped and who knows how long it stays off from running. also, have you seen how nasty and hidious they stamp you, fuck that, no thanks!!!
