Hello all,

New to this forum, found it to be the best forum for writers online, less ignorant and aggressive place than some others.. so thanks...

I write Phear and I'm real new to graff, respectfully learning. I am a regular forum user, and have been moderator and admin on various forums in the past.

Going to post my first two pieces here if no one minds ;)

Been blackbooking for a while, needed to take it to the wall :D

This was my first piece, lines pretty blurry, but i was quite happy with it...

Wearing a suit because i had to go back the next day for the flick, on the way to college.

This karak was done last week, i didnt do the stuff abouve my head, that was my mate who wanted to try the paint.... doh...

Also, i had the original artists permission to go over his background, this is a legal wall where shit only lasts a day or two...

Like i said, legal wall so im not worried about posting my photo...

Planning or hitting the streets once im good enough not to shame myself...

Planning on painting all my cash away in the summer, get some skills up :)

Anyways, comments, advice, ideas.... All welcome!

Thanks.

DRP - Phear.

The montana gold was gifted to me, but fair enough.

I been sketching more since then, thanks for the advice.

Also, thanks AM1610 for the positives :)

More comments welcome.

EDIT: I didn't do the cubes, those were by a local hero type guy who said i could use it as a background, he had his flick. Doh!

Too bad he didn't do those cubes. And sits in front of his pieces. And shows his face. And wastes Montana.

To Phear...because you seem polite I will be frank. Don't expect any love at all. Go to the books. Go simple. Practice practice practice. I am not hating, I'm just being blunt rather than being a dick.

Close.

Edit: there is a toy paint thread floating somewhere. For more precise advice, post there.

Sketchy - True, you were not a dick, thanks, I can handle harsh criticism, kinda over common in "graffiti culture", anyway.

As for standing in front of the pieces, i realise that's lame haha.

Only been at this a month or so, and not put in much time, it's all about this summer :D

Maniac, thanks for that. (I realise im no one here, but i might politely mention you can edit previous posts if you have shit to add, im a regular forum user so i notice these things hahah :) )

take your self back to your bedroom and then go find somewhere to paint illegally.

you're not going to get better painting legal walls.

go paint the tracks.

how the fuck are you going to start legal and then go hit the streets?

and maybe learn to do a tag first

sorry for not being positive but it's true .

Prawn Laska:

People tend to be nice, and give constructive criticism, to those who show respect to those who have gone before, and do not profess to be better than the next guy.

I am humble and modest, as a newcomer to this forum and graffiti.

I know I'm shit, and anyone with talent would surely not care about me of this thread enough to get mad about it.

If I had come onto the forum saying i was good, or expecting skilled artists and writers to say I am good, I would expect that sort of response, but I didn't, I made sure not to tread on anyone's toes :)

Just a suggestion as to why people have not been nasty about my low-level attempts at graf.

Peace,

DRP - Phear

EDIT: I'm not being funny, but maybe people have been nice because I don't call strangers erm.. "doochbag". ;)

i know 'people tend to be nice' buddy, but where did you get the impression that writers were?

if you cant handle a bit of flack on the internerd you wont last a minute in the game.

and yes 'we all start somewhere', but most are honest enough to themselves to realise that nobody at all wants to see that stuff...

and if you want to 'show respect to those who have gone before' do us all a favour and neck up.

Are writers not people?

I can handle flack, and will expect alot from you as I post my progress :)

If "nobody at all wants to see that stuff...", feel free to ignore threads started by me, hehe :D

Any other comments on what I have done are welcome.

Peace to all.

Read some books, study your scene! View actual graffiti and stop being a fucking homo ass emo bitch. You suck. Go cry or some shit, Sally. Graff isn't (nor will it ever be) your thing. Honestly...

Ha ha. Fuck me this thread is funny. All based on those 2 flix but jokes. Although not as amusing as just criticism my constructive criticism would be to start with markers. Clear, simple letters. Simple letters. Dont start fuckin with arrows or extensions till you can drop a simple handstyle or dub letter. Ignore the characters as well. Those are supplementry. And expect to get lined and rinsed for about our first 2 years. At least.
