LIVERWURST*
I'm headed there next weekend with my girlfriend and I'm looking at hotels to stay at. I'm hoping some of you can offer guidance on non-tourist things to do, and maybe a cool area to stay in. Any help would be appreciated...

geezpot
Pick up a Georgia Straight, it's a local free paper found everywhere. It's comes out every week and has all sorts of things to do listed in it. Concerts, art shows, sales, etc. Granville street and Robson seems to be a good start if you want a downtown adventure. Robson is more trendy shopping and Granville is more urban. From there I suggest you walk down thru Gastown and hit the Cambie Pub for a pint(a good spot to score weed if desired). I suggest walking the sea wall in Stanley Park. (you can smoke weed if desired) It'll take about an hour or 2 and make sure you wear comfy shoes. If you got a car I suggest a day drive up to Whistler (weed can be smoked if desired). Reuben Kinkaid
Metrotown was fun when Playdium was there. I went there looking for it a few months back only to find it was gone. I left depressed and unfulfilled.
geezpot
Playdium was good times. Granville street is the only good place for arcade action. Especially with pizza slices next door.
