ase
used to be a factory, it was converted to a legal spot by meres....its a really nice spot to visit, been there a couple times , but its a long ass journey from the bronx, so i dont go there often
basekone
so what's the deal...can someone just walk in when it's open and walk around and flick shit?
the_gooch
95% of the graffiti is outside. the rest is all factories, offices and lofts (inside). you can go there anytime and take flix. you just need a permit from them to paint. it's right across the street from P.S. 1 http://www.ps1.org/ and right under the 7 line. 5 points was once a place called the "Phun Factory" it was run by some dude named pat (who never really wrote). he was an asshole and ran the place like shit. mere's came in and took over after it was shut down. He revamped the place and brought a lot more credibility to it. Inside: The outside was actually used in a few movies: Sleepers http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0117665/ and Bomb the System http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0337585/

Saul Rosenberg
used to be a factory, it was converted to a legal spot by meres....its a really nice spot to visit, been there a couple times , but its a long ass journey from the bronx, so i dont go there often OK if youre going to talk about the place at least know what youre talking about. The building is full of mainly artist studios. This guy Pat somehow worked something out with the owner to allow people to paint there. It was known then as the Phun Factory. The guy Pat was a dick, this was in the early 90's at least. You would have to show this dude your work and if he liked it you could paint, oh yeah you had to pay i think 20 bucks also. Around 2000 or so some kid Meres took over. He renamed it 5Points. As of now 5points is closed and you can not paint there from what I've heard. SneakV2.0
does NYC have HOFs at all apart from this?

Saul Rosenberg
There are some piecing spots still alive but all the HOF's are dead. People still paint at the Harlem hall of fame once a year but its all politics and money aka a joke.
