Craz-E
I love seeing handstyles. (especially the real philly shit) but my friend thinks its not artistic at all. is it general accepted as being artistic by writers? im pretty sure it should be because its just nice as shit. my friend is more into pieces but our friends are mostly toy and he is more toy than me. so everytime i talk about writing i hesitate to say "we're too new to be doing pieces" he did one piece that looks nice from a toy perspective but im sure ppl here would shoot it down. but anyway....so handstyle: art/not? KniggazInDemStreetz
Anything is art but it's not what I'd call it, it's a craft or a skill and you admire that, people who don't write find it hard because they don't know what it takes to have good letters/handstyles. ketel2
theres definately an art to it sick letters, style, all in just lines... theres art to that. people may not consider it art at first site but they all have structures to them, the little doo dads and crews and all that
Slush.e
Caligraphy is art. Handstyles are a form of caligraphy. Therefore, handstyles are art. Therefore, your friend is an ignoramus.

ebunny91
I sure as hell think so. Philly Style is crazy-insane but "Art is in the eye of the beholder" ...duh. c'mon ppl
seeking
you are right, your friend is wrong. no matter how fresh your pieces are, if you don't have a good hand, you suck. end of story. if you're just starting out, you should be working on hands and simples, not pieces. however, worry about making good graffiti, not 'art'. art is gay.
