a quick heads up to all of you.

Justice Department takes aim at image-sharing sites

The Bush administration has accelerated its Internet surveillance push by proposing that Web sites must keep records of who uploads photographs or videos in case police determine the content is illegal and choose to investigate, CNET News.com has learned.

can you use an image hosting site based in another country? isn't that out of the justice department's jurisdiction?

i'm not a lawyer, but i'd suppose that since you are on u.s. soil, it affects you.

use a proxy (web based for you computer illiterate by choice folks) like anonymouse.org

to upload pics. it can be long and drawn out, but it's worth it.

and no more flicking your drugs. too dangerous.

Would this law be coming into effect in Australia too??

Who takes flicks of drugs anyway??

not mentioning who took flicks of drugs, but it happens.

i don't know if it would be coming to aussie land. it's

always possible. just be careful what you post on the internet. use precautions.

Cheers for the heads up anyway.

no problem. we all need a reminder that the internet isn't the safest place

all the time.

moderators: perhaps this should be a sticky for a few days?

something else:

could you ask raven if he could get an ssl login screen happening

for 12oz? a nice certificate that expires at the end of each day would

be bad ass. just thought i'd ask again and see how it flies.

This is exactly why I want to smack the shit out of idiots when they say that they don't care if the government spies on us all because "they're only looking for terrorists" and they personally have nothing to hide. First of all the terrorist are probably smart enough to not blatantly say shit via the internet. Second of all everybody has SOMETHING to hide and the government aint going to stop at the terrorists, they're looking for anybody for anything.

Goodbye America, hello 1984 and the prison industrial boom of the "new American century"!

This is what happens when Americans become complacent. Now we're ALL going to jail for doing anything "illegal". Gotta wonder how many more things are gonna be made illegal in the near future with the booming prison industry and the lack of privacy and freedom on the rise.

^^Bush is a "Dummy Head" and not the root of

these issues. Don't point fingers at the government

that the common people willingly allow to be in control

of your laws and respective privacy.

If you blame Bush for your problems then you might

as well blame yourself for not learning where the root

of the problems, and what the actual problems are that

affect you.

(I reserve the idea that you just made a comical comment,

and that you were not serious, but just in case you were.)
