Description for The Graffiti Artist DVD

--Nick is a shy and rebellious teenage graffiti artist who roams the Portland and Seattle streets late at night, looking for empty walls to tag. But when he meets and become friends with another tagger, he starts to emerge from his alienated shell. Featuring striking cinematography, carefully sparse dialogue, and a surprisingly nuanced performance from newcomer Ruben Bansie-Snellman as Nick, this indie from writer/director James Bolton became a critical success on the festival circuit.

I have nothing against the gays. But I have sat down to watch a movie and all of a sudden some gay shit happens you didn't expect...

Like if you read that review you would just think it was about a graffiti writer coming out of his shell, not coming out of his shell and giving some other dude a handjob...

It's a surprise no matter how you feel about the gay...

no im not being homophobic in any way.. im not trying to be degrading or all that jargon im just saying with the subject matter being graffiti witch is not a real popular form of art being connected with a homosexual love story is odd to me..

i guess they just make movies about any thing these days

this whole fucking movie was awful, but that's beside the point.

graffiti is a male dominated pastime, to think that there aren't more gay dudes doing it than earsnot and channel zero's own rage is just stupid. and having a gay love story involve graffiti is no more odd than a gay love story involving cowboys.

blah blah blah brokeback layup blah blah blah gay blah blah something blah

it is a pretty weird concept though. which demagraphic was this movie made for? it sure as shit wasnt writers. gays? do they really need some graffiti subpliot? the fact graff is such a misunderstood/ badly portrayed subject to begin with, to then combine it with some weird gay love twist? its just...why? its like making a movie about a writer who decides what he really wants to do is handroll cigars or something.

haven't seen the movie, not fussed either way to be honest. realistically, many graffiti writers are paralyzingly homophobic, dumb, teenage boys who can't look past earsnot's sexuality to acknowledge that he fucking kills. so they certainly aren't gonna react well to a film about a fictional gay writer, even if it happened to be a fucking brilliant film.
