DOOODERS i saw the austrailian pink floyd shit was fucking awesome. The laser light show was amazing the hot little white girl singining the vocal solo on greatgig in the sky and a blow up 20 foot tall warthog with lazer eyes fucking amazing...

Dogs: Pink Floyd

You gotta be crazy, you gotta have a real need

You gotta sleep on your toes, and when youre on the street

You gotta be able to pick out the easy meat with your eyes closed

And then moving in silently, down wind and out of sight

You gotta strike when the moment is right without thinking.

And after a while, you can work on points for style

Like the club tie, and the firm handshake

A certain look in the eye, and an easy smile

You have to be trusted by the people that you lie to

So that when they turn their backs on you

Youll get the chance to put the knife in.

You gotta keep one eye looking over your shoulder

You know its going to get harder, and harder, and harder as you get older

And in the end youll pack, fly down south

Hide your head in the sand

Just another sad old man

All alone and dying of cancer.

And when you loose control, youll reap the harvest that youve sown

And as the fear grows, the bad blood slows and turns to stone

And its too late to loose the weight you used to need to throw around

So have a good drown, as you go down alone

Dragged down by the stone.

I gotta admit that Im a little bit confused

Sometimes it seems to me as if Im just being used

Gotta stay awake, gotta try and shake of this creeping malaise

If I dont stand my own ground, how can I find my way out of this maze?

Deaf, dumb, and blind, you just keep on pretending

That everyones expendable and no-one had a real friend

And it seems to you the thing to do would be to isolate the winner

And you believe at heart, everyones a killer.

Who was born in a house full of pain

Who was trained not to spit in the fan

Who was told what to do by the man

Who was broken by trained personnel

Who was fitted with collar and chain

Who was given a seat in the stand

Who was breaking away from the pack

Who was only a stranger at home

Who was ground down in the end

Who was found dead on the phone

Who was dragged down by the stone.

Favorite floyd song ever!

No this was actually Roger Waters from Pink Floyd, along with a backing band. I mean the fucking legit singer!!!!!

Was too fucking sick. Just got home and jumped on here after picking up a pizza (herbalicious munchies) and onto my 2nd beer since my return (never mind I haven't stopped since 4PM!!)

They played the whole DSOTM, but they played pretty much every other song I wanted to hear like 'Set the controls for the Heart of the Sun' and 'Have a Cigar'.

The ending of Comfortably Numb was ruined by a mixing error when the lead guitar swapped to another guitarist (but who's volume level wasn't raised) but was still sick as anything.

One of the 5 best gigs of my life for sure!!

m'eh, music for high school pot heads

you are obviously an idiot. you have no idea how much these guys pushed the envelope musically.

what does being a kid and smoking pot have to do with an appreciation for talent and a willingness to experiment musically?

please, tell us what do you listen to?

only album for high school potheads is the wall! that piece of shit should fall off the planet...david gilmour so fucked the floyd!

what are you talking about?

waters wrote pretty much all of the wall and had almost total creative control. yes, it is the most commercial of all of their work but it is still an amazing album.

gilmore was part of floyd from 67. how did he fuck floyd up?

honestly, do you really like floyd or are you just talking out of your ass?

Yeah I was wondering what you listen to Lens.

Obviously Nirvana, as you were so into defending them in the other thread..

And there is nothing wrong with smoking herbs to garner a further understanding/connection with the music.

i was also defending nirvana. but let's not get back on that topic...haha.

you're right, i'm an idiot because i can, from a critical standpoint, say the wall is crap. quite frankly, it's nothing more than a culmination of ideas long established by a band that had pushed the envelope long before the conception of your favorite record! nowhere in my post did i say the floyd was crap now did i? and really, what do you know about them, mate? if you've truely digested their catalog i think you'd agree that their time was long up before waters burned out. anyway, they're virtually flawless from piper at the gates... to darkside.

Well firstly, mate, I don't think the wall was the apex of their work. I called it amazing, but that's not to say that i don't think their earlier works are not as good, in fact I think much of their earlier work surpasses what they were doing on the wall.

Honestly, I only like a few songs off Piper at the gates of dawn (Interstellar Overdrive, Astronomy Domine). I would prefer to listen to A Saucerful of Secrets opposed to the aforementioned.

Back to the wall; I like the themes of isolation, conformity, and withdrawal that are constant in the wall. I guess much of my appreciation of it stems from how when I was a teenager I could relate to much of what was going on in it, in my own odd way.

^oof, while interesting, the early stuff pales beside the later triumphs... The Wall and Darkside are universally acknowledged. The Darkside has been called the best record EVER by MANY 'reputable' sources...

Not by me though, my favorite is the Final Cut.

don't think you could say the old stuff pales to the new, two completely different influences, two completely different time periods (60s psyc to 70s isolationist...). what syd did was just as groundbreaking and his influence is so noticeable that it's hard to see the good when it influenced so much british/american crap...
