smithxi
I've made a universal stem that most female caps fit on. It's a long metal tube with bigger tube, which goes into the cap, glued on to prevent leaking between the Two. Yesterday I took apart a can to see how everything works, and I can say that I'm really confused. This will be hard to describe, and if anyone knows how the push mechanism under the cap works, please reply. Under the cap is a small plastic piece that covers all of the base of the stem of the cap, and goes slightly up the sides of the stem of the cap. But on that plastic piece, there is not a hole to allow paint to go into the stem of the cap. This baffles me as to how the paint gets into the cap. Because even if the plastic piece is pushed down, it must stay with the base of the cap. So my question is, how does paint enter the base of the cap's stem? smithxi
I actually got it working perfectly with a krylon today. The only problem is the push down doesn't release right away, I'm thinking of sanding it a bit or something. I'll post pics later.
