Smart
c'mon Tearz, I gave up on Def Leppard after Photograph, back when he still had 2 arms, I found out that metal chicks would still fuck me if we listened to Ozzy or (shudder) Bon Jovi or Poison... at the same time in my life, I started fucking girls that liked Depeche Mode and Erasure and the Smiths, so, I have no use for that 'pour some' era shit... Guest bug
don't start with lars ulrich. i hate that fucker. he gets credit for being a double bass guy (he was doing fast double bass as early as '83). i don't know who was THE first, but he was one of them. my take on lars: technically speaking, the timing of his fills and rolls are very difficult, but they just don't sound good. he got skill, but no style. Smart
oh, and Lars is a badass but he's a BIG FUCKING WHINER too... jeez dude, for a rich guy you wouldn't think he'd be all uptight... Anyone else see Motley Crue on the Girls, Girls, Girls tour? where Tommy Lee had the drum cage that lifted up off the stage and went out over the audience and then spun every wich way while he played huis solo? Cracked Ass
So basically nobody has mentioned Dave Lombardo yet. OK, whatever. Except...is he the one in Fantomas? Or is that John Zorn? Or am I confused. Good call on Mackie. Whoever drummed for Allan Holdsworth on Metal Fatigue was pretty tight. So is the Melvins drummer. I WOULD LIKE TO MEET MORE DRUMMERS. I've been trying to form a band for 10 years and still can't find a fucking drummer. I know 3 and they all have at least 3 projects going on at a time. Guitarists are a dime a dozen, drummers impossible to find where I live. I outgrew Def Leppard long before I stopped buying their albums, out of some perverse sense of loyalty. Guest BROWNer
pff...come on fellas, no props for that all out wankin' double bass drum shit...as far as i'm concerned there's only one that deserves mention in that genre, and tesseract already named him. Smart
a good drummer is impossible to find... I was actually thinking abvout that earlier today, I reached my level of guitar playing based almost solely on the idea that I want drummers to approach me, and it's been a good strategy, I've met quite a few but the good ones are always busy as hell...
