Let alone 99% of the time do I ever see anyone standing next to me looking at the paint. Anyone who thinks writers do not account for at least 50% of the sales in spray paint is smoking crack. Spray paint is not used for many applications. Even stuff like black wrought iron fences are usually painted with brush paint. I recently painted my apartment and sprayed the baseboard heating gloss white. That shit stunk my house up for days. Also if not probably ventilated the mist will get on things 10 feet away. Spray paint is not user friendly indoors. So now ridle me this. When is the last time you saw somebody paint their fence outdoors Key Lime or Berry Pink? Yeah I know the naysayers will say ok some people are smart enough to take that chair outdoors and paint it. Yeah but do you think the average Joe Schmoe or Grandma Mary is going to spray paint outdoors in the middle of Winter. NOT!!! Then, out of the blue, joe schmoe construction worker or home hobbyist walks up, takes one glance, grabs a can of black or grey or white, walks away. This all happened faster than it took you to decide what outline color you are using. the new valve system is aimed at crafters and average users, no doubt. i heard now that they are making painters touch and other cans with german-style caps, a white and black version of the old comfort tips. however, this is what i heard and someone showed me the cap, i dont know if its 100% factual. I am hoping that they start doing this comfort cap thing again, and keep with the non-any angle cans. also, the any angle cans can only come in male valve i think, because thats all that kilz paint comes in with the any angle design. and i realized while covering rust on our waterheater base, cans that only spray upright probably suck for the average user who just needs to cover one square foot of rust on something parallel to the ground. ps. those montana classic caps do not work on the new cans. they leak all over Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Your the fucking moron...the percentage of United States that has cold winter weather to warm weather is probably around 75% to 25% during the Winter Season. Do your math & geography. The back of Rusto says paint should be used when temperatures are above 50 Farenheit. Umm trying looking up the USA Weather map and tell me how many states are above 50 farenheit at the moment. Weather.com lists about 75 % of the States currently at 40 degrees or less. Great painting weather for the backyard huh? No more lke great weather for racking. Which is what probably makes a big part of the sales for Rusto during this time of year. Face it the average Joe Schmoe is going to follow the instructions on the can. Which means wait till warmer weather. Then when its gets warmer walk around when people are fixing up their homes and tell me how many people , contractors you see using Spray Paint to paint up their fences , garages ...whatever. Hardly none. ...and what the fuck does it mean when you say their are far more people that dont write then do...no fucking duh. So does that mean they all go down to there local Home Depot and pick up cases of fruity colors for their fucking homes. Cmon now. Yeah contractors are really spray painting people's home interiors Key Lime Green & Grape. Think when the last time you were in a building somewhere or someones home where you have seen these colors painted on anything. Johnny Ballbags do me a favor keep the name calling to someone else. grossebite Posted January 25, 2007 Share Posted January 25, 2007 when i hear you i really enjoy to live in Europe, before they were selling Krylon can's in a big "home depot" store's chain and now they sell belton and also a wide selection of caps... thats crazy... but what really suck's generally with spray paint is the quality of the paint! i see a lot of prods (mostly in black and silver) that fade away in only a couple of months.. it's like when they stopped to use xylène and toluene in markers...water based ink:o ... maybe it's a conspiration against writers.. the same companies who sell paint also sell the cleaning products... and about the hypocrisy of the compagnies, cover all paint, xxxxl cans of silver:rolleyes:, and http://www.molotow.com with their "bombers" product... It's ridiculous for people to argue with each other over whether or not non- writers use a lot of spray paint. Yes, a lot of contractors, construction companies, artists, set designers, and factory workers use spray paint on a daily basis. More than people would probably guess. Then again, I don't even paint that much, and I probably use an average of ten to fifteen cans a week. That probably puts me in the top ten percent of spray paint consumers, given how many people probably use an average of zero to two cans a year. Imagine how many cans a serious freight head, who does literally thousands of pieces a year, goes through. What it boils down to is this: writers certainly make up a minority of a) the population, and therefore, b) overall spray paint consumers... but they use much larger quantities on average. When a store moves twenty cans of spray paint, it wouldn't surprise me if that represented ten Joes buying one can each, and one writer taking the other ten. But really, I have no way of knowing, as I have not done extensive market research on the subject. So I'm not going to fight with some retard on the internet about it. It is an interesting subject to ponder, though. *Also, it's worth noting that the companies who do use hundreds of cans of paint at a time are probably not getting it at Home Depot. Writers probably do take up a majority of the paint supply that hits store shelves, but that's because the other major consumers are ordering that shit in bulk from the Grainger catalog.
