If there was a city I could teach Graff to it would be Rome.

I used to live there, and have been back many times since. THEY STINK!

Bomb Heavy? yes. Got Skills? no.

Italian graff is kinda good up north, but the further south you go, the worse the styles get.

APU UPDATE

Asset Protection Unit patrols caught one

vandal red handed and narrowly missed

another.

The APU is part of the Customer Service

Officer team and helps to protect rail assets

from the loving attention of vandals.

Patrols on Friday, 11 May, caught one

graffiti vandal red-handed at North

Brighton.

Another tagger,

busy at Windsor

station,

managed to

scarper before

being

apprehended

(but was

probably glad he was wearing his brown

underpants).

The Asset Protection Unit (APU) scored

another success, apprehending two

vandals at Newport on Friday, 18 May.

A trend emerged recently at Newport,

where vandals had been striking parked

trains on weekday afternoons between

3.30pm and 4.30pm.

Responding to this trend, APU officers

planned and executed a “sit off” operation

last week.

The officers conceal themselves and

observe - sitting off from their target.

If the graffiti vandals arrive, they are

allowed to complete their work while being

filmed and photographed, and then

apprehended as they try to leave (when it

is usually safer for the officers than trying

to pursue offenders through sidings and

maintenance yards).

A patient wait bore fruit for the APU last

Friday (18 May).

They observed three male vandals painting

murals on a train in the Newport siding.

As they left, two offenders were

apprehended, while a third managed to get

away through a private house.

A heap of incriminating evidence was

seized, including 12 cans of spray paint and

a camera.

Offenders and evidence was handed over to

police from Williamstown station.

Well done to the APU.

An unhappy vandal realises there’s

paint on his shoe.

Spray cans nestling at the bottom of

plastic bag (now nestling at the bottom

of a Victoria Police evidence bag).
