Grizzled mafuckas, 11 out of 10 girls, a bond car with little more than two minute camera time before being fucked up, guns, a gas tanker that doesnt blow up when you shoot it (you know, believability), that extreme walking crap (not so believable). Of course I've never seen another James Bond movie so I have nothing to compare it to. But if they'd just called it "Generic Spy Film: Action Packed!", it's entertaining on it's own merit. I liked how it was shot like an older bond film-- right down to the angles, lighting, etc. The only thing that sucked was the Chris Cornell theme song. You can't beat seeing 5 movies for $24, even if more than half of them are sorta ass: Saw 3 - Cool ways to kill people. The concept is now officially played. The Grudge 2 - MTV-style horror. Shitty plot. Bad 'scare' sequences. I don't know why Sam Raimi's name is anywhere near this. Deja Vu - I only watched 10 minutes of this but it looked alright. Didn't see enough to comment. Departed - Pretty good. Held my interest through MOST of it, but it could've been a lot shorter. Saw the ending coming. Too much hype ruined it. I'll like it more in 2 years when I've fogotten how good it's supposed to be. and Casino Royale - I only made it through the opening half hour before we scooted off to see Saw 3 (bad move), but I was really digging the classic-style cinematography and the fact that bond isn't a flakey pretty-boy anymore. "you only live twice" has a lot of "oriental" stereotypes in it but entertaining anyways. I think "stereotyping" is a more appropriate term for the books when Ian Fleming describes Bonds dealings with "non-white" people. To describe the books as "racist" is kinda of stretching it.
