seriously mosglu you should be able to get one for free as a replacement. i'm surprised so many people are unaware of this. i've had about 5 iPods so far and only paid for one. just go to apple.com, go to the iPod section then the the support section, it'll ask you what caused your ipod to stop working, etc. etc... just don't say you washed it because they may not replace it. all my 4 four reasons were legitimate; they just stopped working for unknown reasons. anyway they'll send you a box, which they want you to put your broken ipod in it and take it to your nearest DHL location. it should only be a couple days before they send you a new one.

^^^no...apple will not replace your ipod. the site explicitly states that upon sending your ipod in, if they find that the damage was caused by "misuse or abuse" it will not be replaced. and it's pretty easy to detect water damage, with condensation under the screen and whatnot.

i dropped my 3rd gen. ipod in a big full cup of vodka the first month i had it. i let it dry out for like 3 weeks before using it and it worked, but sometimes the screen would scramble. good luck.

I broke my girl's ipod just by plugging it into my computer, which leads me to believe some people are right when they say they're designed to break.

...then again, I've had mine for almost 4 years now aonly had one problem where it froze for 3 days and then worked again out of nowhere. *shrug*

Based on this I say let it dry out for a while (2-3 weeks) and then send it in. The worst they can do is keep the broken one and not send you a new one. And who the fuck cares, it's not like it was going to work anyways.

You might get a free iPod out of the deal, and you might have to buy a new one. But if you didn't take a chance and send it in, you'd be buying a new one anyways.
