Potholder-NO, I should have went to meetings, but I couldn't stomache all that brotherly love over not drinking. I smashed alot of trains and hung out with my drunk buddies instead!

I can quit 12 oz any time I want too,I can stop doing anything.

Thanks everyone...i wish it wasn't raining or else i would be out in the yard today.

Actually, some of the psychology research locally has shown that AA Meetings and the whole 12-step thing aren't as effective as was previously thought. (No wonder it doesn't work for a lot of people...)

12-Step Research

A new treatment program being developed for alcohol and substance abuse that has been much more effective in comparison.

why go to meeting if you want to quit something?

that's good that you skipped meetings I think all that my name is XXXX and i'm an alcoholic business would be a bit annoying after a while.

i think if you want to quit you really don't need a program to do it with you just do it.

I just found a few times when beggars in america would hit me up for cash they'd give me the whole "i'm in a program" business and it's kind of like "did you get into the program to have an opener line for a begging pitch or did you go for help?"

6 years is a long time to be sober good work!

thing is, they spend way too much time focussing on not getting fucked up, and none whatsoever thinkin bout moving on with your life...

CONGRATS TRAINMAN!... that shit is a serious accomplishment.. i did the complete abstinance thing for a while when i had reached a pretty bad bottom, but i was too curious about how the other half lived after a while to not experiment with moderation.... its been pretty successful for me for a while now, but i truly admire people who can hold that shit together like you...
