There aren't any black people in Clint Eastwood's new movie about Iwo Jima?

Morgan Freeman made up enough to fulfill Clint's necessary "use of black people" quota for a few years from now when he won that Oscar.

I assume it's because american forces were segregated, and the black divisions weren't really front line fighting troops

i saw this movie today. there were a few blacks in the movie. once on the ships (prior to the invasion), and there were a couple blacks on the shore taking a guy away on a stretcher. that was it.

Was it any good?

yeah. it wasn't a true war movie, it basically revolved around the story behind that famous picture of marines putting up the flag at iwo jima.
