Weapon X Posted October 9, 2006 Share Posted October 9, 2006 The premiere Ugly Betty destroyed The Office and My Name Is Earl last Thursday. How is this possible? I watched both, and though Ugly Betty was decent, it can't compare to those NBC shows. Is The Office on its way out? My mom seems to think that Indians came up with a ton of movies and shows before the West did. She says that Satyajit Ray is the one who came up with E.T., and Spielberg stole it. I personally don't know enough to say it's true, but it makes me wonder why the Academy hooked Ray up with a special acheivement award a few years back. Actually, La Bella Mas Fea is a ripoff of Betty La Fea, which is the original (and actually means "ugly Betty"). There was yet another ripoff, called La Gorda Mas Bella (The Prettiest Fat Girl).
